100% professional!
From the front desk, through meeting with the assistant and the Doctor, everyone was friendly, kind, and most of all, very thorough.
They all clearly care about every patient and provide excellent periodontal care. Dr Weenig is clearly up to date on periodontal science and takes time to educate his patients. You are in great hands here!

I do not recommend Dr. Weenig. They are very rude and will lie to get your money. Please don’t support this doctor as he is not ethical and does not care about anything but money. Please consider this review when looking for a good periodontist and don’t give this guy your time of day and move on to someone that has good intentions.
Frequently Asked Questions About Mountain West Periodontal Associates
Will the exam hurt?
We will be as gentle as possible. The periodontal exam can be completed with little or no discomfort.
Do I need X-rays?
We will need current periodontal X-rays in order to see disease not otherwise visible. If your referring dentist has taken X-rays, you may request that they be forwarded to us.
What will it cost?
Since all patients are different, your periodontist must complete your examination before establishing your treatment plan and the fee for care. The fee for periodontal treatment can vary considerably depending on the type of problem and the complexity and length of treatment. An approximate fee can usually be determined at the initial visit; but on occasion, some initial treatment or further diagnostics must be completed before the final treatment plan can be established. Our philosophy of practice is to treat as conservatively as possible to attain treatment goals.
Will my insurance cover the cost?
Dental insurance policies often cover periodontal treatment. Please bring all dental benefit information and cards to your examination appointment. Upon request, we will submit a claim to predetermine your insurance benefits; however, this is not required by most plans.
Will I need surgery?
Not everyone needs periodontal surgery. If treated early, gum disease can be controlled without surgery. We will make recommendations based on your situation. Our philosophy of practice is to treat as conservatively as possible to attain treatment goals.
Can my teeth be saved?
The recent advances in periodontal treatment allow us to successfully treat most teeth.
When will I go back to the general dentist?
Our office and your dentist will work closely together. If crowns and fillings are needed, your dentist will provide them. Regular visits to your dentist are an important part of periodontal maintenance.
What if I don’t have gum treatment?
Periodontal disease is a progressive, painless infection. Delays can cause further bone loss and more expense. If your teeth are lost, dentures are never as effective as your natural teeth.
Will the periodontal exam be painful?
The periodontal exam is performed as gently as possible and typically causes little or no discomfort.
Do I need to bring X-rays for my appointment?
Current periodontal X-rays are needed to detect disease that is not visible otherwise. You can have your referring dentist forward them to us if available.
How much will periodontal treatment cost?
Costs vary depending on the specific treatment plan, which is determined after your examination. An approximate fee is usually provided at the initial visit.
Will my dental insurance cover periodontal treatment?
Dental insurance often covers periodontal care. Please bring your dental benefit information and cards to your appointment for benefit verification.
Is surgery always required for gum disease treatment?
Not everyone needs periodontal surgery. Early treatment can control gum disease without surgery, and recommendations will be personalized.
Can my natural teeth be saved with periodontal treatment?
Advances in periodontal care allow most teeth to be successfully treated and saved.
Will I return to my general dentist after periodontal treatment?
Yes, we work closely with your general dentist who will handle crowns and fillings. Regular dental visits are important for maintenance.
What happens if I don't get gum disease treatment?
Periodontal disease is progressive and can cause bone loss and eventual tooth loss if untreated. Natural teeth are always more effective than dentures.
