The employees are kind, helpful and efficient. They know their jobs. They have lines but that is because of the aforementioned.

Since I am out of space to update this post, I will temporarily remove the original post. Once this situation is resolved, i'll repost the original with the final outcome. This is an email sent to the store manager.
Jeff, after being told someone would contact me regarding this incident, I still have yet to hear anything. I do, however, want to make something perfectly clear in writing: I have NO intent of pursuing ANY kind of legal action here regardless of the outcome of the upcoming pharmacy board hearing. Other than being treated like a complete piece of garbage and lied to, I haven't been harmed in any way as far as I know. I don't want nor do I need Kroger's money. What I want is accountability and an apology for the way I was treated and I would like to know what disciplinary action was taken at the store level. I want to know why these pharmacists and assistants are lying to people. It appears that there is some store policy in place here and it has been implemented in the WRONG manner. If there is a store policy, then it is policy. Period. You don't give licensed professionals free reign to discriminate at their will and use their own judgement to sell syringes to whomever they feel deserves them. What happens if there is a devoutly religious pharmacist who is biased against an individual transitioning from one sex to another and a person comes in asking for syringes for their hormone therapy? This puts the pharmacist/tech in a position to freely discriminate at will if they are against such things. To say that there is a "law" preventing dispensing syringes is a LIE. I have to buy them all the time and do so with zero issue from any of the other pharmacies around town. This is in direct violation of more than just one of the seven tenets/codes of conduct a pharmacist is expected to uphold. For the pharmacist to state that "store policy prevents me from selling this item to you" is the way a "policy" should be implemented thus covering the pharmacists butts and eliminating any potential liability the store could incur in situations such as these. Whoever implemented this "policy" of lying to patients needs to be reprimanded in some form or another. You treated me absolutely HORRIBLY and you have yet to answer for these actions. Going forward, is this the status quo we can expect from Kroger corporation now that you have monopolized our grocery options here? Your silence in this matter leads me to believe that this is, indeed, the case here.

I had an emergency flare up of my rheumatoid arthritis and was out of my town of residence. I called my provider and asked to transfer my needed prescription to this pharmacy. They said they could do it over the phone no problem, just have the city market pharmacy call them.
So I did, and waited three hours. I hadn't heard back from them, so I called back. Turns out that the city market pharmacy called my pharmacy, but required a fax of the prescription, since city market is apparently living in the 80s. Since they didn't get it, because no one under 70 uses a fax machine, they wouldn't fill my prescription.
I had to go to the ER to get my script in the end. These guys cost me hundreds because they won't accept an rx number over the phone and made only the most perfunctory effort to convince kp to send via fax.
If you like heartless npcs who insist on using technology from 40 years ago, then city market pharmacy is right for you. If you are in search of an actual person who will actually put in a modicum of effort, go elsewhere.
They cost me 16 hours of unbearable agony for to their insistance on antiquated tech and I will never shop there again.
