Urgent care facility posts that they are open until 8 pm, but their last walk-in is at 7:30 pm. So they’re not really open until 8 pm.

I got really shook this morning from the lady at the front desk. She doesn’t know how to deal with people and especially are coming in for medical treatment. I been going to UCLA for years and always had a good experience and really felt how much they cared about me as a person who needs help but unfortunately this morning was unprofessional and no respect at all. By the way this is the second time I’ve been experiencing the same thing at this exact office. Hope the management team can address this issue and resolve it.

As both a patient and an employee of UCLA Health, I am devastated by how my serious medical complaint has been handled—or more accurately, not handled at all. Since March 2024, my complaint has been completely ignored. To this day, no one has followed up with me, despite the severity of the situation and the fact that an official complaint and SOFI report were filed on my behalf. What makes this even more concerning is that I work in this same office. I personally witnessed that multiple Medical Assistants present at the time did not know how to administer an EpiPen to a patient. This is not a minor oversight—it is a serious patient safety issue. Given the circumstances, I truly believed I would have received at least a call, an explanation, or some acknowledgment by now. Instead, I have been made to feel as though I did something wrong simply by seeking accountability and resolution. I have not been treated like a patient, an employee, or even like a human being throughout this process. It is difficult not to notice the double standard. Had this happened to a medical director, clinician, or one of their family members, I have no doubt that follow-up would have occurred immediately—likely the same day the complaint was filed. I wanted to believe in UCLA Health’s commitment to patient safety, accountability, and respect. Unfortunately, my experience has shown me a system that protects itself rather than addressing legitimate concerns—especially when the person speaking up is on the inside. This review is not written lightly. It is written out of disappointment, concern for patient safety, and the hope that no one else has to experience this level of disregard.

A complete waste of time. If anyone is curious what “universal care” might look like, go to UCLA Immediate Care. They’ll charge you top dollar and still treat you like they’re doing you a favor. I came in with a persistent cough and was told by three different staff members to do a virtual visit instead. I explained that I needed to see a doctor in person and get a chest X-ray. Apparently that was too much to ask. Was told that the wait is one hour. 40 minutes later was told the wait is another hour because the Dr is at lunch? What! They are running a clinic with one doctor and a packed waiting room. Completely understaffed ( lack of professional staff and lots of clerical help?)disorganized, and dismissive of patients who actually need care. The only department that truly excels is billing. They will extract every possible dollar from your insurance and then come after you for the rest. Just remember: medical debt no longer appears on your credit report, and providers are now legally required to be transparent about their billing. Patients deserve better than this. UCLA only cares about their brand not patients!!

As a nurse who brings my 85-year-old patient to UCLA Health Woodland Hills for appointments, I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the level of service here. The doctors and staff consistently demonstrate incompetence in basic tasks. We requested a referral to a specialist, and they completely botched it – wrong provider, incorrect details – causing unnecessary delays in care for a frail elderly patient who can’t afford to wait. Today, we arrived on time for a scheduled appointment and have been sitting here for over an hour with zero communication or updates. No apology, no explanation – just endless waiting that is exhausting and stressful for an 85-year-old. To make matters worse, it’s nearly impossible to reach the primary physician. Phone calls go unanswered, portal messages are ignored, and there’s no reliable way to get timely answers or support. For an institution with UCLA’s reputation, this feels like third-world service – disorganized, indifferent, and downright dangerous for elderly patients who depend on prompt, competent care. I expected far better and will be seeking alternatives. Strongly advise others, especially those with elderly loved ones, to avoid UCLA.
