they were so rude. were not personable or kind or friendly at all. go elsewhere. they don’t care.
The UCLA Medical Lab Westlake Village is truly an amazing facility. I suffer from Ehlers-Danlos and have extremely small veins; any type of blood draw hurts beyond belief and can continue hurting for hours after, depending on the phlebotomist. To my great surprise, I was a walk in, with zero issues and only 5 minutes wait. I told the person at the desk about my sensitivity, and they were very comforting. I was then attended to by Bivory Johnson, who is probably THE best phlebotomist I have ever encountered. I felt no pain, it was incredible. She is so talented, and such a nice person. I would go back any day, if I could have Bivory Johnson as my healthcare professional. Ask for her!
This is a very convenient location which I have used twice already since I live in Thousand Oaks. My first visit I came as a walk in. I was encouraged to use the online appointment system next time. Nevertheless I wasn't turned away which was very nice. The second time, with an appointment, I came for a blood test and a Covid swab test, The lab was pretty empty. I am thankful for this convenient location.
For the amount of time I had to wait you would think this office is completely understaffed. However, there were 4 technicians not doing anything and 2 people at the front desk that were completely unfriendly. Not to mention a little rude. Not the techs but the front desk reps.
I was asked to leave a urine sample in their wall cabinet and when I did found that there were at least 4 others in there as well that had not been collected. It made me question whether or not my results could be compromised by someone who just wants to be cruel. I asked if it was standard procedure to leave so many in there and the girl out front said yes it was but she would let the technician know so that they could be collected. I even told her it makes me question the integrity of leaving my sample there and she said no one would mess with it.
Yeah right! We also thought no one would go around licking stuff on store shelves during a pandemic but... whatever!
I've never had a problem there before but if the staff behaves similarly next time I go in, I will be sure to find another lab to go to.
