Terrible Customer Service - both times I went either storing was not available to do a money order or their system did not work.

Last year, I transferred my prescription from the Rite Aid in Pleasant Hill over to this Safeway pharmacy. I came in with a letter from Safeway mailed in to my address with a 20% off groceries if I transfer my prescription. So, when I got to Safeway, this offer wasn’t honored to me because I was told that under the phone number provided, I already used Safeway pharmacy but I never ever used Safeway pharmacy before, ever. For the past 20 years, I was using Rite Aid pharmacy. Anyway, I was told that it looks like someone else was using it already but I’m single and I again, I’ve never used Safeway pharmacy before and no one else could have used it. I spoke with Tracy and she felt very compassionate about it all and gave me a $25 Safeway gift card instead. Every time I come in, if Tracy is there, she always greets me and her customer service is nothing but excellent. I truly appreciate this lady and her work efforts. Also, Bill has been very good with his customer service as well. Anyway, I shop at this Safeway because it’s in my neighborhood and I really wish the management could figure out who was using my phone number for their pharmacy needs.

I had a series of poor experiences dealing with 1 person at the Safeway Pharmacy. He is a pharmacist and I believe he is the manager (name is Phil or Bill I think). I find him to be rude and sarcastic. One time I was filling a prescription using a GoodRX coupon and tried to show him on my phone. His only comment was "I cant read that" - very rude and somewhat sarcastic. I honestly dont understand how a pharmacist that works with computers and small pills all day cant read an IPhone ProMax screen. The next issue is I have been filling pet medications at the safeway pharmacy. My dog has a lot of pain and anxiety issues. I have been working closely with my vet to resolve the issues and part of the treatment is medication. Every time i have the perscription filled he gives me a hard time. This last time he refused to fill the med until he spoke with the vet. This was 4 days later. I have way too much to do with work, family and managing a senior dog to have this added complication. I go to a competent experienced vet who does not need to be second guessed by a pharmacist trained only in Human medicine. My resolution is to stop using the Safeway pharmacy on Ygnacio Valley Road for any of my perscription needs.

The staff is very friendly and always check to make sure if you are or aren't familiar with the medication.
