Connie didn’t feel like working so she sent me off because it was near closing time. I chose a couple frames I liked and asked the sales associate if they would allow me to show them a picture of my prescription since I didn’t have the physical copy on hand. He said ”no” however, he would set aside the frames for me so that I could go home and get the prescription. I said ok, and raced home. I could not find the prescription and tore my house apart looking for the thing. After looking for over an hour I finally found it and rushed back in to Macy’s. I made to the Lens Crafters counter 12 minutes before closing—I talked to Connie and told her the situation. She looked at me and said, “We are closing soon.” I reminded her that they were not closed yet and she said, ”it will take me an hour to enter your information.” (An hour?!) I had driven home, tore the place apart looking for this prescription and drove back, rushed in to Macy’s but Connie wasn’t having it. I was frustrated but relieved I had made it in but—She wouldn’t even offer to take the prescription to enter it the next day, didn’t let me pay for the frames so that I wouldn’t have to wait another week, and didn’t even bother to show any kindness or customer service skills to at least ease the frustration. I was so frustrated and she just sat there looking at me hoping I wouldn’t make a scene. Connie said come back tomorrow and I told her to just forget it. I’ll take my business elsewhere...she didn’t care and said, “ok”. I can’t believe I wasted so much precious time trying to support this business.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters at Macy's

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
