- ACAlexandra CareyMar 25, 20265.0Simply amazing! National seating and mobility was FANTASTIC from start to finish! I lost a HUGE portion of my mobility due to some crazy explosion of all my chronic symptoms at once after a small initial injury about 2 years ago and have been clawing my way back to "regular life" ever since. Generally it has been nothing short of triggering for my previous medical ptsd and adding new trauma. But National seating and mobility was one of a couple sining stars through all of this. Robert was my mobility specialist and he put in WORK to get me what I needed. He advocated for me to insurance and other providers, he was extremely easy to communicate with (felt like chatting with a friend everytime, without loosing any professionalism, which I personally GREATLY appreciate). I just had my chair delivered today, Skylar was my tech and wouldn't you know it, ANOTHER AMAZING GUY! We giggled and chatted while getting me nice and secure in my chair and doing all the how to stuff. The chair itself is SO CUTE đź©·, it is exactly what I needed to be able to get a better sense of independence again. I'm shooting for the moon now! Whatever happened with me tried it's best to take me out, but with the help of a few AMAZING Healthcare providers, Robert, and Skylar I feel like I am actually on the path of getting to a NEW "normal". If you are another human searching for a mobility aid, I'm SURE you understand this and have probably experienced similar terrible things, and if youre reading reviews trying to avoid any more issues, you have found THE PLACE to go.

Robert went above and beyond to reach out to my doctor and therapists to make sure that I had the right cushion and back support! Robert also introduced me to the Empulse R90 which has turned out to be a game changer for me! Robert was extremely kind and patient listening to all my concerns and needs. When Robert arrived with the chair, it was perfect. Exactly what I ordered. Exactly what I wanted exactly what I needed the first time!! (Which is extremely unusual). Robert made a few small adjustments for me. And I was good to go. After decades in a chair, this is the first chair that has arrived perfect! And I don’t say that lightly. Robert Armstrong is in my opinion the best ATP I’ve come across in many many years. I am very grateful to have had Robert by my side through this what is often times a very challenging and frustrating process. Many thanks Robert. Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
