  My elderly mother has been having issues with her Medicaid, resulting in a lapse in coverage. As a retired teacher, she is struggling to make ends meet. After Rite Aid closed, it has been a challenge to find a new pharmacy, but we have switched to Safeway. Due to the lapse in coverage, she has been paying out of pocket for her prescriptions, and we recently started using GoodRx coupons. Today, on June 30, 2025, the woman who helped us at the drive-up pharmacy was incredibly kind and patient. I drive my mother and advocate for her, which takes time and can sometimes be frustrating, but it is unavoidable. Despite this, the pharmacy staff remained calm and professional, which was greatly appreciated. In contrast, the customer behind us chose to park next to us to express her frustration about waiting. This experience highlighted the importance of kindness and understanding in difficult situations.

  Been using Safeway Pharmacy for all my Pharmacy for Meds & Flu Shots etc. Safeway Pharmacy on Pacific since 2015. Great service

  Rude Customer Service. I have been going to this Pharmacy for years. They used to be kind people with a smile. I have tinnitus and have to take heavy medication that requires many signatures. I take them like clockwork, no more no less. If you don't take them for a day or two, you will have severe withdraws. I went to pick up my prescription after seeing my Doctor that gave me the refill prescription papers with Doc signature, they say they can't refill for 3 more days because I'm too early. So after arguing with them that its been the full 90 days, they treated me like I was a drug dealer or a drug addict trying to get my "fix". I was trying to explain to them that I don't want to go through withdraw symptoms be cause it plain sucks and my Tinnitus will go through the roof. The pharmacist was new, never seen her before... treated me like complete garbage. So, I left and came back 3 days later, which was today. They tell me, "we don't have your prescription ready, you will have to come back tomorrow and gave me a couple pills to hold me over. If I came in Friday, WHY DIDN'T THEY ORDER THEM AND MAKE SURE THEY HAD MY ORDER! Now I have to make a 3rd trip. This is a long review because I want people to be aware of their practices. The Pharmacist today tried just filling 1 month instead of 3 months like my doctor ordered. She sad we don't have enough so you can pick them up monthly. That would be 3 trips and 3 bills to my insurance instead of one. I would of cost me more out of pocket at a monthly fill that at a 90 day fill. So I asked her, so you want me to come back 3 times and pay 3x the amount because you don't have it in stock even though you knew I was coming in since Friday's episode? Just looked at me like a deer in headlights. Safeway Pharmacy USED to be amazing! Too bad the new team is terrible with customer service and shady when it comes to refill practices. Any suggestions on a better pharmacy?
