Excellent Experience from LC & Dr Cohen office. My experience with LC Simi Valley started about a year ago with Lead Nate at the SV Location. It's been a super fun experience picking out the RIGHT glasses for my face . First Class in Customer Service . From LC & Dr Cohen . Nate is one of the most knowledgeable helpful Opticians I've ever encountered .
2025
It all started when i wanted to ditch my old doctor . The old doctors tech SOLD me glasses i , never warned me i'd regret not getting anti glare on a $1300 pair of glasses , the only damn thing he didn't sell was the anti glare ! $1300
glasses poorly fitting ended up in a drawer .
Simi Valley Location I stopped by on a chance they could help me with these glasses I thought i loved but that's because that old PA SOLD the stylish & tiffany brand and how well thecolors match my face etc . Yes true , but frame size not so much to the point of blisters . .
I met Nate for the first time and he offered to help straighten out the tiffany frame and refit them to my face for FREE ! Then he offered me that if that didn't work come back and he'd keep fixing them until they did . After the third fixing session both Nate & I knew all the reasons why there was no way these glasses were going to work for my anatomy . He really got it and HEARD my concerns never once "sold" me anything , except for warranty - just buy it it's worth the $39 for sure It was about October when we renewed contact lense prescription and I got a pair of reading ONLY glasses . At last minute Inurged my 67 year old husband to ditch the costco readers and get a real eye exam, and use the benefits we pay for! He was able to get a nice pair of Armani readers also assisted through the LC and his insurance process by Nate & Dr . Cohen. My husband liked Dr Cohen so as busy as it is at the end of the year Dr Cohen was able to get me in at a sick time 3pm on New Year's eve! Whooo Hoo!! max out those insurance benefits !
Dr Cohen is kind patient and caring . He understood that I'm not the normal " I need a reader prescription" patient . We did all exams necessary and got a good prognosis and barely changed my prescription, My eyes change sometimes twice a year . So well schedule follow ups as necessary. I want to emphasize his care for patients . My 3pm appointment ran slightly late and the family behind me approx at 4:30/5pm were the rudest people expecting Dr Cohen to rush through our exam but he did not . He was calm didn't allow the family to distract him or take him off his great chair side manner . He was so
professional and ignored that AH family of 4-5 who were glaring at both of us and walked me out. All at about 5pm on New Year's eve . The store is open for various services till 8pm which is so convenient . Seriously who gets to use their insurance benefits up to the last second on NYE - Nate made it happen!!
I highly recommend this LC and please see Nate if you have complicated issues , he's knowledgeable about insurance , he'll always help you get the best fit for you , prices using LC Promotiins vs Insurance and sometimes at certain times of year it's max promo and I just got 2 pairs of prescription progressive lenses all decked out incl. the ANTI GLARE burberry light weight tortoise rectangular glasses & cute cat eyes Ralph light weight sunglasses for under $600. My progressive prescription is one of the most expensive . the frames were practically free due to insurance and LC sent me a birthday promo for free lenses so for my prescription lenses a $300+ value with purchase of a frame . I took advantage of that and found the lightest weight ralph's cats for $96 (included in that $600 price above) The weight is what matters for my face . Style is great but if it causes pain I'm at the age that function over fashion is the best outcome . Nate helped me pick out both, great fit and fashion . Thanks Nate for all the great advice and guidance . Your an asset to LC 🙏🏻

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
