  I had the Best experience at LensCrafters in Sherman oaks today thanks to Ruben! I came in to repair my persol sunglasses and he did it so fast like a magic trick. He tightened them with a super cool heating Element which I had never seen before and before I walked in they were falling off my face. Now they fit like a glove!! Thanks again Ruben and LensCrafters for making my day super special.

  At first I wasn’t planning to write a review, but the way LensCrafters handled the after-care and quality of their glasses has been bothering me for a while. For the first time in my life I needed prescription glasses. During the holidays I decided to go to LensCrafters because they carried the Ray-Ban Meta glasses with prescription lenses. The staff was very helpful when selling me the glasses, and they suggested I purchase the 12-month Eyewear Protection Plan as well. In total I spent about $700, which was supposed to be a discounted deal. About a month after buying the glasses, I noticed they started sliding down my nose. This was very frustrating, especially since I move around a lot for work. I went back to LensCrafters, but they told me they couldn’t adjust these Ray-Ban frames. If that’s the case, they should have told me that before selling them to me. Over time the frame got worse and even started separating from the Meta component. When I returned again for help, the one-year warranty had just expired — by only 13 days. A store employee, who was also the manager at the time, took my glasses to look at them and actually made the problem worse by breaking the part that was still connected. All I wanted was for them to fix the frame. Instead, I was told there was nothing they could do because the warranty had expired. Another employee stepped in and tried to help, and she was much more understanding. She looked to see if a cheaper frame could fit my existing progressive transition lenses. After checking, she told me the lenses themselves were also “not good anymore” and would need to be replaced — meaning I would have to buy a completely new pair of glasses. At that point I was extremely disappointed and left the store. I ended up gluing the broken frame myself just so I could keep wearing them, although that meant I couldn’t fully fold the glasses anymore. Later, while traveling for a gig, I stopped at another optical store (not LensCrafters). The employee there was incredibly helpful. He happened to have an old Ray-Ban demo frame that my lenses fit into. Since it was just a display model, it didn’t have the electronics, but at least I could wear glasses that stayed on my face while DJ-ing and didn’t look terrible because of glue. He sold me the demo frame for only $50 and installed my lenses in it. He also mentioned that the lenses I originally got from LensCrafters were already degrading and would eventually need replacement. Unfortunately I was only in town for one day, so I couldn’t replace them there. The coating on the lenses now looks terrible (see photo). The technician explained that lower-quality coatings can sometimes degrade quickly and become difficult to clean or more prone to scratches. I’m very grateful to the small independent store that helped me in that random town. Unfortunately, after this experience, LensCrafters will never see me again.

  Jessica was so helpful in fixing my sunglasses. one of the screws came out at the beach (gone forever) and within 5 min of walking in, i had my sunglasses fixed. she also tightened the other screw to make sure everything was secure. thankful i can keep wearing my fav sunnies!

  Basically the blind leading the blind as far as who works here. The staff are nice, but it takes them so long to figure out simple things and it’s incredibly frustrating. Ultimately it can be blamed on the lack of training by management.
