Sold me a seat cushion that broke and gave my daughter a pressure sore. Took months for them to order and receive a replacement. When the replacement arrived they never notified me. Then tell me it was gonna take a month for a technician to come and deliver the seat. Disorganized and understaffed.

They improperly installed a cubby bed and 3 days later it broke from being so tight! So my autistic son had been in danger for 8 months and they refuse to fix it !! My son is in danger on a daily bases due to not having this bed, and it being broken and they won’t remove it so if he jumps on it or even goes in this room he in in danger. My son is 5 . I guess disabled people don’t matter even when it’s 10,000 medical equipment

This is not just a case of bad customer service; it is a demonstration of complete and utter failure in business responsibility, especially when dealing with essential medical equipment.
I have been waiting for over two years (24+ months) for crucial replacement wheels for my wheelchair. As if that staggering delay wasn't unacceptable enough, I also placed an order for smaller, yet essential, replacement parts six months ago and have received absolutely nothing. The direct consequence of these delays is a severe impact on my mobility and quality of life.
The customer service department is nothing short of appalling and aggressively unprofessional. Repeated attempts to follow up are met with transparent excuses, hollow promises of "shipping next week," or are simply ignored entirely. There is zero accountability and zero empathy for customers who are dependent on receiving their products to function.
I implore anyone considering purchasing from this company: Do not do business with them. They have proven they are incapable of managing basic logistics for critical equipment. I will never give them my business again, and I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. This entire experience has been genuinely disgraceful.

Disappointed with ATP and the company. Terrible customer service. Long wait times for chairs. No communication. Bad measurements, no apologies. If you have to get your chair through them, make sure you get an ATP who knows what they’re doing and a second opinion to make sure measurements actually work. Very disappointing.

I've been a client of NSM for over 10 years and they have provided a good service to me. I always had a good wheelchair through them and maintenance. Now that they have merged with another company and have a new branch manager Heidi Hawkins, their service is MUCH BETTER. When I needed a new power wheelchair, Heidi was excellent in helping me choose the right wheelchair for me, did all the measurements and processed paperwork with the insurance. To my pleasant surprise, I received a new wheelchair very quickly, and I absolutely love it! Heidi delivered the wheelchair to my home and made sure everything was right and worked well for my needs. I really liked that while it was processing, I received notifications on my phone with new updates, which was really awesome! I was aware of where I was in the process of receiving my new wheelchair. And then, after some time I received a phone call from NSM just to check-in if I was happy with the wheelchair and if there is anything more I needed. Very good experience. Caring people and they know what they're doing. I definitely recommend this company if you need help obtaining a wheelchair.
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
