I had a growth scan scheduled with Dr. Thalia C. Mok for over two weeks. The day before the appointment, I called the scheduling center simply to inquire about their ability to possibly have me seen later that same day. I never authorized a rescheduling or asked to cancel my original appointment, I merely wanted to know whether they HAD a later appointment on the same day available. The scheduler informed me she would need to reach out via messenger and have them call me back the following day.
They went ahead and canceled and rescheduled me for an entirely different appointment, without confirming with me directly. When I returned their call around 2 hours later to clarify the situation and ask to maintain ny original appointment, I was told the doctor would no longer honor my appointment time of 3:40.
So, basically, instead of acknowledging the miscommunication and working with their patients, the doctor took the opportunity to end her work day early. If my appointment hadn't been on her books for the last two weeks, I would understand her unwillingness to fit me in but considering this was happening the day of, I'm appalled she wouldn't just honor an appointment that has been on her schedule for weeks now. I am almost 31 weeks pregnant and every week matters in monitoring my baby's progress and it's extremely frustrating that the maternal fetal medicine doctors don't take that seriously.
