Dr. Firestone is fantastic. Excellent bedside manner, great philosophy of care. Unfortunately, that blinded me to the reviews claiming this office has unscrupulous billing practices— until I got hit with hundreds of dollars in costs (after insurance!!) for a standard covid/flu test. While I thought it was an error, calling the billing office got me nowhere. They were nice people, but essentially just shrugged and said, “Healthcare costs, amirite?” My insurance verified that this cost was unusually high. Still trying to get it sorted out, but I’d recommend not getting attached to the good doctors here so you can avoid the financial and administrative pains!

This is by far the worst medical office I have ever been to in my life. The doctors seem to have no idea what they’re doing and the administration is also incompetent and non responsive: I came to see Dr. Patel who is not my regular doctor for yearly my check up and he failed to order a number of routine tests. What kind of doctor doesn’t order a CBC panel when you come in for your yearly exam. Apparently Dr. Patel. there were other tests that were missed as well. I had to come back and give more blood in order to have the appropriate test run Which were ordered by Dr. Poulous. I had emailed her previous to coming in and she had assured me that they would be coded correctly as a part of my preventative exam. She of course failed to do so and coded them as diagnostic so my insurance didn’t cover them. When Dr. Patel came back into the office after that weekend there was no communication between the two doctors and Dr. Patel re-ordered some of the missed tests. So the tests were ordered twice because he couldn’t take the time to communicate with the colleague who had been covering for him. It has been over two and a half months and the billing error has not been corrected. I have called to speak with Sonya the office manager repeatedly in the past two weeks and I have received no phone call back. The whole place is completely incompetent. This extends to UCLA billing overall because I have now called the main billing number and I’ve had to repeatedly call over and over when every time I’m told someone will be calling me.It is the simplest correction but no one can seem to do it.it’s truly pathetic and embarrassing
