Kesha in the pharmacy is an angel! She has earned this pharmacy its five stars and then some. She and the pharmacist are courteous, respectful, helpful and professional.
Customer service is not easy anywhere and is particularly brutal in Santa Cruz where many jobs are understaffed and the public is, in general, preposterously entitled. I deeply appreciate how genuinely kind and friendly Kesha is, going above and beyond what I would consider adequate service for a transaction. I very much appreciate that both the pharmacist and Kesha are respectful on the phone and in person, even when I have prescriptions that have to be special ordered. This is the first pharmacy I’ve been to that was willing to make a special order.
They do not treat me like a criminal or a bother and it keeps me coming back here. I hope the managers of this pharmacy take note and do what it takes to retain the high quality staff! If you are currently suffering from mistreatment at Walgreens, I highly recommend switching to Safeway on Mission.

i’ve been using this pharmacy for almost 2 years now and for me they are the best in the area. everyone there is very nice, i’ve had no issues with insurance. sometimes the app is glitchy. i’ve had really bad experiences with walgreens, and the employees at both westside and horsynders have been horribly rude to me on multiple occasions. this pharmacy is also willing to order meds that are harder to find (can take a while to get them though), whereas i’ve called other pharmacies to see if i would be able to get them quicker, they say they don’t have them and tough luck.

Mr long has no idea what he is doing. Can’t even figure out how to properly check out medication without doubling the amount. Has no idea how to use insurances correctly. I have MediCal and the price doubled…. Been standing here for almost an hour, all while the other guy pretends not to be drunk by hiccuping the whole time. Today is 06/08/2023 @ 6:47pm. I hope Safeway at least reviews the footage and does something about these two.

This store always give problems. Not to mention as a instacart service provider I start my shifts early. It's sad that the restrooms are closed from 9pm to 9am but your store opens much e to earlier. This makes no sense YOUR BATHROOM CLOSER FEOM 9PM TO 9AM IS RIDICULOUS. YOU HAVE ELDER PEOPLE SHOPPJNG THAT KAY NEED TO USE THE RESTROOM AND WONT BE ABLE TO DUE TO IT BEING CLOSED.
