    On a Sunday I obviously could not make an appointment with my regular doctor. There were appointments easily available for carbon health and I was seen and they dealt with my problem efficiently.

    Today at 9:20 a.m., we had a frightening and unacceptable experience at Carbon Health San Mateo. My son was experiencing heart pain, which is a clear medical emergency. Despite arriving on time, the front desk staff showed no urgency at all and told us to wait, sending us back inside instead of providing immediate help. This delay put my son’s life at risk. The staff member was rude, disorganized, and completely unprofessional. The behavior felt discriminatory and deeply disrespectful, as if patient safety depended on who you are rather than how serious your condition is. This was not just poor service—it was dangerous negligence. We will never return to this clinic. Based on this experience, it appears that human life is not a priority here, which is extremely alarming for a healthcare facility.

    I had such a great experience at Carbon Health! I’ve gone in twice for my sciatica pain, and John, NP has been absolutely amazing both times. He really takes the time to listen, explains everything clearly, and makes sure I feel comfortable with the treatment plan. I never feel rushed, and he genuinely cares about helping me get better. Sciatica pain can be so frustrating, but thanks to John’s guidance and treatment, I’ve felt real relief. The whole team at Carbon Health is professional, kind, and efficient. The clinic is clean, organized, and appointments are smooth from start to finish. I’m so grateful for the care I received and would highly recommend Carbon Health and John, NP to anyone dealing with pain or needing urgent care. Thank you for helping me get back on my feet!

    Visited yesterday for an urgent issue that did not need an ER trip. Very good all round. Made an appointment about 90 minutes prior to visit. I was seen within 5 minutes of arrival by a pleasant competent and attentive nurse who did the initial workup - BP, temp etc. Doc came in a few minutes later, asked plenty of questions, and took care of my situation to my complete satisfaction. We plan to switch permanently from the UCSF Urgent Care facility in Redwood City to this one, based on our experience at both places.

    Excellent, excellent providers but the front desk/appt/account access is frustrating. Because the providers are great (especially Kristen) we have used the Hillsdale location multiple times for my kids. The part I find Most frustrating is that each patient must have a separate email and telephone (seems like a mom should be able to have herself and her kids on one account - who has three phones? Three emails?) The other thing is I had an appt, yet waited a full hour in waiting room while waiting walk-ins went in before me. (So what’s the point of an appointment?) The actual provider visit is great and we have always had our problems resolved but the process was frustrating. (Ease with billing/insurance/copay)
