  I came to Carbon urgent care with a sore throat. I was advised by the staff member at the front desk that my insurance would not cover the whole cost of the appointment (understandable due to my coverage being through Kaiser). I was further specifically advised that typically the balance after Kaiser pays their portion was “around $200”. I had a simple strep test done. I just received a bill for $786.48 (my portion) - the total that was billed was $1,111.80. This place is a rip-off, I would have been better off going to the emergency room. Over a thousand dollars for a simple strep test is ridiculous and I feel very mislead by the front desk staff. Beware of deceptive information and predatory billing practices.

  Absolutely worst, most horrible experience at this clinic. I went in for an annual health check, decided to get my blood draw done on site since I thought it would be convenient - worst decision ever. Their MA couldn’t get my blood draw after poking me twice with a lot of painful probing. For the background I’ve never had issues with blood draws in my 20 years of adult life. Their manager came in and told me I had to come back for the blood draw the next day and promised a quick and hassle free drop in visit for the next day. Then the next day when I called the office they say the waiting was long and I had to come at a specific time later. Eventually when they were able to admit me for the blood draw, they still didn’t have someone experienced enough. I got completely traumatized from not only the pain and failures in blood draw, but also frustration caused by their poor management and process. What is even more ridiculous, is that a few weeks later they send me a bill for my second trip to the office which was to complete my bloodwork, as an “office visit” and already charged my insurance. I had to deal with the hassle of disputing the bill and make them void that fraudulent claim.
