Chinese Hospital is an award-winning, modern, full-service acute care hospital with a main campus in San Francisco. Chinese Hospital is the only hospital of its kind in the United States, and is a primary economic engine and principal landmark of the community. It has been a unique contributing feature of San Francisco’s healthcare fabric for over 120 years. Known as “The People’s Hospital”, Chinese Hospital serves a community distinguished by a majority of low-income, monolingual or linguistically isolated seniors. While the majority are of Chinese background, the patient pool includes an increasingly diverse mix of ethnicities such as non-Chinese Asian, Caucasian, Hispanic, and African American. Everyone is welcome.
