  I went to this Vons with my older sister because she is not fluent in English, and I wanted to help communicate if needed. My sister was legally buying beer (born 1999) and showed a valid California ID. I am her younger brother and under 21. I only helped carry the beer because it was heavy. I was not buying or drinking alcohol. At checkout, the cashier (an older man) demanded my ID and immediately refused the sale when I explained that I am a minor. He did not explain the policy, did not listen, and had a very unfriendly attitude. The interaction felt uncomfortable and biased. I was willing to provide proof of our relationship, but the cashier was not interested in listening. I understand alcohol policies, but they should be enforced with respect and clear communication. This experience felt unnecessary and poorly handled. I normally would not leave a negative review, because this situation could have been easily resolved with a clear and friendly explanation. Instead, the cashier had a very unpleasant attitude, refused to explain the policy, grabbed the beer from us, and immediately denied the sale. As Asian customers, the way we were treated made us feel uncomfortable and felt like possible discrimination. Policies can be enforced professionally and respectfully. This experience was unnecessary and poorly handled. I understand and respect alcohol policies, especially concerns about third-party purchases involving minors. However, instead of explaining the policy or allowing us to clarify our relationship, the cashier handled the situation poorly and with an unpleasant attitude.

  Normally everyone at this pharmacy is great. And then there's Haley. Kind of gives you a brain-dead stare when she doesn't understand something, and then expects you to just walk away instead of her doing some work and figuring out what's going on. Luckily there was someone else also working who was able to look and figure out what was going on with my prescription and get it filled.

  Love Vons Pharmacy. Staff is lovely. They take my GoodRx coupons no problem, usually applying the discount without my asking. Pharmacists also answer my questions and give guidance about different over the counter medicines. 5 star service.

  I had to get a Covid vaccine and I wanted Pfizer so I called up the Vons pharmacy and spoke with the pharmacist Luis De Varga. I asked him what time were the walk in hours and he said until 6 pm. I was bummed because I don’t get home from the trolley from work until 6:15pm .He stated he would wait for me until 6:30pm? Talking about great customer service ! He was very pleasant and professional, and I was grateful that he waited for me. I wish they would hire him full-time at that pharmacy since he is a pharmacist float-because they definitely need more pharmacist’s like him that goes out of his way for customers with a amazing personality.
