He explained the repairs, as well as all the features of the chair. He spent time making sure she was all set and comfortable and safe! Christina went above and beyond to help, as well! Her quick responses helped us get through the process easily. She was kind, attentive, efficient and worked tirelessly to get the repairs taken care of. We would not have a repaired chair without her!! Many thanks to them both and to NSM!
- SSSunflowerFeb 4, 20261.0I’m appalled that a reputable organization such as Sharp Community Medical Group or Sharp Rehabilitation would use an organization such as National Seating & Mobility. They are the absolute worst. My brother had an appointment in August 2025 with a few follow up’s. Since then we have heard nothing from NSM. He has emailed, I have emailed which we both copied Sharp Rehabilitation on the emails. I have left 3 messages with no replies! You can’t speak to the salesman & there is no customer service to speak to, you have to leave a voice mail. I’m extremely disappointed with Sharp Rehab, they’ve been paid for the visits yet they can’t be bothered to follow up. Instead we are left empty handed trying to reach NSM, who sounds like a fly by night organization. What a scam!
- TLTeresa LindhardtJan 16, 20265.0Yesterday Joe Crowe worked on my son’s wheelchair. It has been broken and 2 other vendors told me it was not able to be fixed even temporarily. Joe fixed the issue with adjustments no parts replaced or ordered! The wheelchair failures had caused my son to choke and turn blue twice in one month. I can’t express how grateful I am to have my son’s wheelchair safe now!! We will be ordering a new wheelchair and Adam and Joe are the only 2 people I will ever trust to do this for my son! Thank you 😊

How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
