- SSSteve Scott3 days ago1.0BE AWARE!!!!!!!THE SACRAMENTO BRANCH HAS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. HAVE LEFT NUMEROUS OF MESSAGES TO HAVE MY MOBILITY SCOOTER REPAIRED AND NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME BACK. THE BRANCH HAS HAD MY PARTS NOW FOR OVER A WEEK AND NO ONE HAS CALLED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME AND REPAIR MY EQUIPMENT. MY MOBILITY SCOOTER IS NOW NO LONGER FUNCTIONING AND IS NOW A HUGE INCONVENIENCE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING THROUGH THIS COMPANY.

Very friendly and helpful and explained the whole process to us, even before we found the entrance a young man who worked there walked with us and showed us to the door! Very nice! As soon as we got inside we were greeted by several people and all were very friendly and polite! I would recommend National seating and Mobility to anyone! Thank you J&k Parker

To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
