Walked in to this pharmacy as a type 1 diabetic to get some diabetes syringes and the pharmacist said they don’t sell them, this is crazy as a diabetic we should be able to walk in and get a syringe, you can check a profile to confirm if a person is diabetic to confirm sale, but this was just ridiculous to not sell them, not okay do better!!

It’s already a miserable experience to go into this Safeway but the pharmacy itself is so terrible. I had to visit this pharmacy 4 times before finally getting my medication and every time they were at the very least uncaring and sometimes flat out rude. I always try to speak kindly to people and still, one of the employees seemed on the verge of yelling at me, rudely saying my insurance had denied the medication saying, “call your doctor because it’s not our problem”. Two days later after doing nothing, thinking I don’t even need those meds, I start getting hounding calls, telling me I need to pick up my prescription, as if I hadn’t already tried 3 times. Plus, all of their over-the -counter items have to be retrieved by a very busy employee. I could go on about all the things wrong with this pharmacy and the bigger societal problems that it’s a symptom of but the bottom line is, don’t go here.

Pharmacist "Holleen" sp? Was terrific and helped us get a much needed, very expensive medication covered and prepared for a gentleman who had just moved to a location near downtown Sac. She had to bill the prescription to pt's insurance a specific way and then had to take the time (I'm sure she was very busy) to personally call the insurance to complete the final step in order for the med to be authorized. Thanks again for helping us take care of this person!
