On postoperative day1, following spinal fusion surgery, my surgeon sent in a prescription for a stronger narcotic because I was experiencing severe pain that wasn’t being controlled. Not only did the pharmacy refuse to fill the new prescription unless I returned the narcotic that wasn’t effective, they tried to blame my surgeon, saying he was the one making the demand. That was completely untrue, per my surgeon. I’ve reported them to the CA State Board of Pharmacy in an effort to prevent others from having a horrific experience.
