My doctor's office told me they have the most trouble with this pharmacy. Safeway rejects prescriptions and demands extra information from doctors that other pharmacies do not require. I'm transferring to CVS.

When this is used as a social meeting and each customer takes more than 5 minutes It is time to change pharmacies and use online sites

WARNING!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PHARMACY!!! I have been going to this pharmacy for a year now and aside from the bad customer service, I honestly think something suspicious is going on here. If you do end up going here, count your pills when you get them at the counter before you take them home. At first I thought I was crazy and maybe messing up my daily dose, but after many prescription refills, there are pills that are missing every time. First it was 1. Then 2. Then 1 again. Then 3. When I called, the person was extremely defensive, which is understandable. I don’t want to assume the worst, but I can’t help but think that someone in there is shaving some off the top as it is consistently the same medication that is getting shorted. I never write bad reviews, EVER, but I have never experienced anything like this before in my life and I have been taking medication for over half my life. Seriously, if you get meds from here, count them in front of them. If I have to give this warning though, that speaks volumes as to why you should find somewhere else to take your business.

This pharmacy’s service has been going downhill for quite a long time, but today takes the cake! I called earlier to see if they were offering flu shots and if I need to make an appointment. Yes, there are, and no, I don’t need an appointment. I came to the pharmacy at 4:50p.m. (10 minutes before they were to close.) No one was in line and as I told the young man at the counter that I was there to receive a flu vaccine, he informed me that the pharmacy closes at 5:00p.m. Yes, I understand that, it is now 4:50 p.m. and I show him my phone. He proceeded to hand me a form to fill out, which I completed by time the pharmacist was through with her phone call. It was now 6 minutes until 5:00. The pharmacist comes to the counter and informs me that they close at 5:00. Yes, I understand that, it is now 4:54 p.m. and I look at my phone for confirmation. The clerk turns off the lights. The pharmacist says that they cannot give me the vaccine as she would need to approve my Medicare insure first, and I have my card in my hand. Heaven help these people who cannot work 1 second longer than their shift, if even needed. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE AT ALL! She was NOT going to help me, period! I left and I went to Rite Aid at Roosevelt plaza and timed the entire transaction to get the flu vaccine. It was a grand total of 10 minutes, including filling out Rite Aid’s form and the pharmacist helping other people in the drive through lane. Needless to say, Safeway could have completed obtaining approval from my Medicare insurance and administering the flu shot within that entire 10 minute time frame that it took Roosevelt. Safeway pharmacist would have been done by 5:00p.m. If only the she, the Safeway pharmacist, wanted to do her job and be kind.

Recommend avoiding this store at all costs. The staff are so mean - one time I was yelled at for getting an error message on the self checkout machine, and another time I was mocked by the staff for not knowing which type of grapes i had. Everything is overpriced. This store is horrible. Just go to Whole Foods across the street.
