- VSVivek SharmaMar 7, 20233.0I first went to Dr. Rastakhiz around Sep'22 after confirming that they take Delta Dental insurance. I subsequently went there for deep cleaning in November when they charged me $304 for 2 quadrants. I continued to visit him for other treatments and was very confused about why I'm paying so much co-pay. I asked them repeatedly if they are in network for Delta and the lady at the front always said yes. Then my wife went there in Jan'23 and the same exact treatment for the 2 quadrants cost her $786. See the attached image!! It's unbelievable! She called them a couple of times and every time they promised to call her back but they never did. Finally, my wife was able to get a hold of them today when they finally told her they are not part of Delta Dental. I called Delta and they confirmed that Dr. Rastakhiz left the network in Oct'22. But they never told us and we've ended up paying *thousands* of dollars out of pocket!! I have lodged a grievance with Delta Dental. They told me that out-of-network dentists can charge whatever they like that's why it's important to always go to Delta website to confirm if the dentist is participating or not. --- Update on 3/17/23: Dr. Rastakhiz told me this was a billing mistake on their part and he'll reimburse any extra money they have charged beyond what Delta would have covered. I have since received a check from his office. I appreciate the swift resolution.
