  I was sent to have my skin on my body checked for the first time in my life at age 65. I did say this to the doctor. He wanted me to point him to a specific anything giving me the impression he could only look at something I could alert him too. Unfortunately, I cannot see my own back side or the top of my head And I also am not trained in identifying skin cancers. He offered nothing unless I could ask him to look at something specific. I don’t understand. Is this what our system of protocol is? I was hoping a specialist would take the opportunity to go over my skin and speak to me about all the spots on my body having grown up in Southern California. He recommended one supplement that was similar to a sunscreen, but did not write it down. I was once again caught off guard by the practices present day dermatologist. Have the medical profession become so guarded against litigiousness that if I came up with a melanoma that he saw, but I didn’t know to ask about does this mean he would let me walk out with something like that? I guess in another year if I get the opportunity, I will be ready to push them to look at every square. But for today, even if he got paid, he really didn’t do anything for me nothing.
