I was there for the first time ever yesterday Aug 14. I was picking up sunglasses. The store was really busy with only 2 staff but it was really disorganized and the woman who retrieved the sunglasses for me treated me like I was a nuisance and with contempt. It was really awful and I am embarrassed for her if that's how she thinks customer service should be. While waiting for one of the 2 reps everyone was just standing around and in no designated area or order. My existence was not even acknowledged nor eye contact made. When it was my turn to be served the lady said that a couple who had arrived 10 minutes after me or longer, she said/argued with me about them being there before me which was not true. Also while the in-store customers were waiting she answered the phone and helped someone for a long time on the phone. How does a phone-in get priority over people literally standing there? When I said I had an order, before she even heard me or saw my email she was telling me I probably wasn't at the right place. Excuse me? Then she placed the box on the counter in a rush. There was no offer to adjust the sizing or anything. I left the store and went to the actual Ray-Ban store to get the sizing adjusted. I have not been treated that poorly in a really long time. Train your staff and have more staff working. I regret ordering to that location immensely.

On July 27th myself and daughter decided to give Lenscrafters our prescriptions to make our glasses, my daughter needed glasses for distance, while I need progressive glasses, the person who was taking care of us told my daughter her glasses would be ready in a week, when it was my turn she told me my glasses would be ready in 7 to 10 days, the second week Tuesday, I called and someone there told me there was no update on my glasses, I called them on Thursday they told me that my glasses were back ordered, like I was ordering a part for my car or washing machine, you don't back order glasses, Tuesday Aug. 11th they texted me that my order had been delayed, Friday Aug 14th I called and Raj told me to hold on he will go check, when he returned he told me that my glasses are not in then I asked to speak to his manager, when she came on the phone she said that my glasses are ready for pick up after three weeks of agony, this kind of behavior is unacceptable and I would not be going back to Yorkdake Lenscrafters their service sucks, and I am advising people to be very careful with this Optical store, sorry I couldn't give a 0 star.

Only admiration and respect for Takis (and his knowledge) at LensCrafters@Yorkdale mall. He was very kind and attentive to my questions. He provided the best frame to suit me and very patiently explained the different lenses that were to my liking and budget. I was back at this location after a very long time. Takis really made the trip back worthwhile! Thank you so much!!

I came here on July 28th following my eye exam to find new frames for my strong prescription, and Takis provided the best customer service I have ever experienced. He is super approachable, knowledgeable and went above and beyond. He was an expert at guiding me towards frames that not only flattered my face shape, but accommodated for my strong lens prescription (even showing me other colour options and putting clear lens in sunglasses frames which I didn’t know was an option!). On top of his expertise, his thoughtfulness was unmatched. He noticed I was carrying a lot of items and provided me a bag, then patiently helped break down my transaction so I could use Apply Card payments. He is incredibly friendly, attentive, and an absolute master at what he does. Hands down the best optician, highly recommend asking for him!
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
