This clinic was beyond disrespectful to the point of discrimination! A new client appointment was booked online over a month ago and confirmation call completed. The morning of the appointment the lady at the counter says - the doctor is ONLY taking new patients who pay out of pocket!! Nothing was asked or addressed at the time of making an appointment or during the confirmation call to confirm if a cash client or via benefits. Complete denial of an appointment in person due to not paying out of pocket?!? The man at the counter could only say “I don’t know I didn’t do the confirmation call” when I explained it was a woman who called he said “yeah she’s busy”! I know she was available as I’d already spoken to her this morning but he wouldn’t allow me to speak to her. He kept saying “sorry you feel that way but we didn’t waste your time” HOW NOT?!
Was told to be there early, they weren’t even open!
Absolutely disgusting service! Complete disregard for someone else’s time! Apparently if you’re not paying out of pocket don’t bother booking here (but they’re happy to send you to the Gloucester Centre location - who doesn’t do eye exams!)

I went there in an emergency because my glasses frame broke, and the place where I had them made was closed. They attended to me quickly, and just as quickly, they found a solution to help me. They were always smiling and very kind and respectful.

Employees have no experience and no customer service
My glasses were blurry when picked up and they blamed it on my optometrist.

I’ve had consistently great experiences at Specsavers Billings Bridge, where the staff are always friendly and go the extra mile. A small detail I’ve really appreciated there is being offered a contact lens case and solution so I can properly try on glasses in-store. I understand this is complimentary, but it makes a big difference.
My recent visit to Specsavers St. Laurent (my second time there) was a bit disappointing. I came in to check the fit of the glasses I had purchased, as I was wearing contact lenses and wanted to see if any adjustments were needed. When I asked if there was a small amount of solution or a case available so I could remove my lenses, I was told this is usually only offered to customers who purchased lenses at that location even though I had purchased mine from another Specsavers store.
I ended up taking the glasses home to try them on, only to realize that one side is slightly crooked and does need adjustment. This means I now have to make another trip back with my three young kids, which could have easily been avoided with a small accommodation in-store.
I completely understand policies may vary, but I do wish there was more consistency and flexibility between locations, especially when it comes to simple gestures that really improve the customer experience.
