If you're in denial, you're trying to protect yourself by refusing to accept the truth about something. I recently had my hearing tested at Connect Hearing .I was there with my Dad for his hearing test and was asked if i wanted a test as well. I said no i was fine, ego? denial? So in jest i decided to humor her. I was more interested in free Bluetooth buds with noise canceling as I'm always replacing mine. Seems i have suffered industrial Hearing loss from 33 years in loud environments. Having said that I've always worn hearing protection. Hearing loss is so subtle I hardly noticed it. Today on my hike i wore them, only because the Bluetooth allows me to listen to my tunes( still in denial) The distant sound of a weed trimmer, the birds feeding their newborns, the gurgling of a creek I walk by all the time. Even the hum of bees in the crabapple blossoms. Sadly I never knew what I was missing .... Big thanks to Connect Hearing in Ingersoll they dared me to take the test
