Extremely disappointing experience with Club Pilates Ancaster, specifically in dealing with the General Manager, Rev.
The instructors were great, but the customer service completely ruined the experience. After fulfilling the required 90 day commitment and paying nearly $1,000 over the past few months, I contacted the studio to cancel before the next billing cycle and before any additional services were used or rendered.
Instead of handling the situation reasonably, Rev charged a $100 “early cancellation fee” despite the commitment period already being completed. When I pointed out that the agreement wording did not support that interpretation, the response shifted to attempting to charge me for an additional full month instead.
The entire interaction felt far more focused on squeezing additional money out of a customer than providing decent customer service or acting in good faith. It was unnecessarily argumentative, contradictory, and honestly left a really poor impression of the business.
I had originally intended to simply take a break and return in the future. After this interaction with Rev, I would not return or recommend this location to others.

Please take this review with a grain of salt. We’re all different, with different goals and expectations when it comes to exercise and overall life.
I’m in my 30s and came to Club Pilates with genuinely high expectations. I stayed for three months, two of which were on an unlimited package costing $355 per month. At that price point, expectations naturally exist. Unfortunately, my experience was not satisfactory.
During the first month, I tried a wide variety of classes. Most of them felt uninspiring and honestly quite boring. Eventually, I gravitated toward cardio and sculpt style classes, which were okay and did provide some muscle engagement, but nothing that felt progressive.
The bigger issue was the overall atmosphere. The classes felt very cold and impersonal. It often felt like you just come in, follow instructions, and leave, without any sense of connection. After three months of consistent attendance, I don’t believe a single instructor knew my name. There was no feeling of being seen as a person, just another body on a reformer.
I also didn’t get the sense that most instructors genuinely enjoyed their work, except Michelle, she’s was great.
Another major disappointment was the programming. Nearly every class, regardless of instructor, was heavily focused on leg work. Upper body work was minimal, sometimes just a few minutes, to the point where it felt ineffective. Pilates, when done well, is full body, balanced, and harmonious. That harmony was missing here.
For context, I’m a former dancer (attached photo, my review comes from experience in sport world and exercising). After having children, I lost much of my strength, and Pilates was specifically recommended to me as a way to reconnect with my body and rebuild safely. I came in motivated and ready to work. Instead, I left feeling disappointed and like I wasted both time and money.
If you’re someone who values community, intentional programming, full body work, and a sense of progression toward a goal, this studio may not be for you. While the convenience of hourly classes is a plus, the structure seems to come at the cost of communication between instructors, variety, and personality. Many classes felt interchangeable and designed around what’s easiest to repeat.
This review is also meant as feedback to the studio. I raised these concerns while I was a member, but they didn’t seem to be taken seriously. That’s ultimately why I chose to leave, and why I’m sharing this publicly, in the hope that it leads to improvement.
