This place is no joke. It’s been about eight months since I upgraded to CorePower from a smaller studio down the street. I’d known about CPY and their Yoga Sculpt classes for years but was always a little intimidated to try it. Very glad I did.
Janelle is the heart of the studio and her classes are my favorite. The room is usually heated to around 95 degrees with humidity. She absolutely pushes you — and will seriously take your body places it hasn’t ever been before. Her playlists are always hop'n, and the energy in the room gets pretty electric. If you want to take her Saturday morning classes, make sure to book early because they’re especially popular.
I also really enjoy the C2 classes and Hot Power Fusion, which feels a bit like Bikram but less torturous.
This location has a real neighborhood vibe. The bigger practice room has windows that look out onto a cute gardening store and the people walking along Grand Avenue. You can see them, but they can’t see you, which is kind of fun.
There are lots of ways to try the studio for free as a first-timer, plus free community classes on Sundays. Highly recommended.

Took a Sculpture class here and it was great. The workout was challenging in a good way, and the instructor kept the energy up the whole time. I definitely felt it after 🔥
The only downside for me is parking. It can be pretty tough around Grand Lake, and that’s honestly the main reason I haven’t come back to this location.
Good thing there’s another CorePower on Broadway that’s easier for me to get to, so I’ll probably stick with that one for now.

Had a great first class with Grace S. Her Corepower strength x was a great strength challenge as well as a solid amount of core. I’ll be back!

I love CPY. It’s been great to see the studios expand in the East Bay. Ive been doing a lot of sculpt bc there’s not as much CSX at this location. It would be nice to have a few more of the CSX classes here. Otherwise love this place and always get a great workout here.

I arrived at 4:02 for a 4:00 class and the door was already locked. There was no one at the reception to help, so I couldn’t check in or even ask what to do. I came all the way there and live far and was only two minutes late, but still couldn’t get in. Also, the ClassPass listing is misleading. If the real cutoff is earlier, the start time should be shown as 3:50 so people don’t get confused most people don’t read the entire description. A simple solution would be to leave the door unlocked until 4:05, like most gyms do, and then lock it. Clearer communication and a few minutes of grace would make the experience much more welcoming.
