  I had a disappointing experience at Vons recently. I brought my small dog with me because it was over 80° outside, and I didn’t feel comfortable leaving him in a hot car. When I arrived, a friendly employee near the entrance said it was okay to bring him in the cart due to the heat — I even asked for permission out of respect for the rules. However, later while shopping, I was approached by another employee at the bakery named Rosalie, who told me dogs weren’t allowed in the store or carts at all. I explained that I had already gotten an exception from another staff member because of the weather, but she dismissed that and made me feel uncomfortable for being there. Rather than argue, I chose to leave my groceries behind and exit the store. I completely understand that there are policies in place, but it’s incredibly frustrating when the staff isn’t on the same page and customers are left feeling embarrassed for simply trying to do the right thing. I hope Vons can provide better training so situations like this are handled with more consistency and empathy. -

  Great variety of produce, plus fresh bakery and deli on site. Prices are fair and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
