I would like to clarify that my 1-star rating is not directed at the employees or management of the LensCrafters retail store. They were professional, understanding, and appeared to go above and beyond for their customers.
My issue is with the doctor's office.
I have been wearing glasses since I was 9 years old and have never had an experience like this. I first saw Dr. Jasleen Phangureh. The exam seemed to go well, and I decided to order my new glasses through LensCrafters.
When my glasses arrived and I picked them up, I could immediately tell that the prescription was not correct. I wore them for several days to give my eyes time to adjust, but they still were not working properly. I returned to LensCrafters, where they checked the lenses and scheduled another eye exam for me with Dr. Kaplan.
I had to wait over a week for that appointment. When I finally saw Dr. Kaplan, I felt that he treated me dismissively. He denied that a mistake had been made and tried to gaslight me into believing that the prescription was correct. At one point, he told me that I wasn't making sense and was ready to send me on my way with an incorrect prescription.
In my opinion, Dr. Kaplan did not have my best interests as a patient in mind. I gave him another opportunity to make things right by refunding the cost of the failed eye exam, but he refused.
I will be filing a formal complaint with the Manitoba Association of Optometrists regarding what I believe was negligent care.

I went to LensCrafters for the first time to buy new frames after braking mine. Dr. Kaplan was absolutely phenomenal. She has a wonderful personality and truly cares about your eye care. Brad also was absolutely phenomenal. I stepped out for a breather and when I returned, Brad had picked out a set of frames that I ended up purchasing his customer service was next level if you go ask for Brad.

The woman in the blonde lowkey needs to be fired. Her customer service is terrible and just awful, acts incredibly rude with so much attitude. She acts like it ain’t her job to help out the customers. I was kind and wasn’t in a hurry, just asking for a repair, acted like I asked her to make me a whole new pair of glasses while she tried fixing it and couldn’t even fix them. Kept giving up even though it was simple. Barely even looks qualified for this position. I will never be coming back again for glasses adjustment to this location. Polo park has excellent service and treats their customers with care. I expected more from lens crafters.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
