  I hired Home Instead initially for just one visit per day for medication reminders and companionship for my relative with dementia while I was away. However, when my relative’s condition deteriorated, they were extremely responsive in providing 24 hr care to allow my relative to be released from hospital and then adjusted their services as needed later. I cannot say enough how grateful I am to Home Instead. They provided me with the comfort knowing that my relative was well taken care of both while I was away and on a continued daily basis when I returned. Rajdeep was especially wonderful with my relative who was not cooperative or trusting of others because of her dementia. They formed a deep bond and Rajdeep was caring, considerate, and attentive.

  Here is my experience at this agency. Unfortunately Jo Jo did not call me back and I was unable to obtain an email address for the owner so my next decision was to write a review. I worked with Lauren setting up care for my elderly mother who has cognitive impairment. Initially five hours a week was set up and Ruth was introduced to my mother. Lauren repeated that they had a special friendship bond. Unfortunately I did not receive any communication from the agency except for standard care forms which were sent through the system. I remember calling JOJO frustrated with the lack of transparency about care and lack of communication. JOJO agreed that the communication was poor and proceeded to tell me that myself and Ruth just "do not get along". My brother took control because I was simply too frustrated to be in charge. I came to Winnipeg two weeks ago and starred at a woman who was unbathed and who had completely deteriorated. Her ankles were swollen. I pointed the ankles out to Ruth who stated that my mom refuses to sit and that is why her ankles are swollen. Ruth at this point commented that my mother had completely deteriorated and required more care. When my brother reached out to JOJO he simply could not implement service fast enough due to lack of care providers. I ran to get a walker and a lift for the bathtub. A few days later my mom fell on the floor of her unit and lay there for nine hours until Ruth and the resident manager opened the door the next morning. According to the resident manager, Ruth was crying and called one of my mom's friends to inform her that she "was done". I guess this meant that she was no longer working with my mother. My mom was taken by ambulance to the hospital while my younger brother followed behind. Not a goodbye from Ruth who proclaimed to have a special relationship with my mother nor was there a call from the agency. I called to see what happened and again the montra from JOJO was heard..."we cant disclose any information". To receive our deposit back I had to provide confirmation of the money sent because they had no record of it. A service that proclaims to care about seniors....well you can decide if you would want this for your loved one. I welcome a call from the owner.

  Shannon is the very best care worker. She anticipates needs before we even know we need help. Always a smile on her face. So caring and giving of her assistance I have total trust and absolutely no worries when I leave the house

  I am very grateful to have worked with Lauren to address my parents’ needs. Lauren was excellent as were the people we dealt with at Home Instead.

  We hired Home Instead to help our family during a difficult time. We needed to hire private care to help us with the transition of our dad overcoming cancer treatments and a stay in the hospital. The service we received was exceptional. We had one assigned caregiver who was thoughtful, attentive, kind and extremely helpful. In addition, I cannot say enough about the professionalism shown by Lauren and everyone in the office who we interacted with. I would recommend them to anyone looking for additional support for their loved ones.
