- BLboss ladyMar 27, 20261.0They are so unprofessional they never answer their phone it takes so long to get a hold of them then once you do get a hold of them it takes them so long to actually repair the chair they gave me a wheelchair they never measured me for they must of went off of my last measurements which I gained a lot of weight since then so this wheelchair I’m in now doesn’t fit me because they never measured me now I have pressure sores on my leg caused by this chair that doesn’t fit me because my leg rubs against the side of the chair because this wheelchair doesn’t fit me it’s a nightmare dealing with this company

How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
