I was referred to Dr Melikian by Beach Cities Orthopedics in Torrance due to my excruciating nerve pain in my shoulders and left arm. I was on heavy pain meds along with cortisone shots and they were not helping. My ortho recommended I see Dr Melikian due to the extreme pain. It turns out I had two badly herniated discs in my neck that needed to be replaced. Within two weeks I was in the surgery room. I had two discs replaced with artificial discs and I am feeling great now. The entire process from Dr Melikians office has been nothing short of exemplary. The staff especially Cecilia was amazing and the surgery staff was amazing as well. The surgery was 2 hours and I left the facility the same day. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Melikian to anyone experiencing any neck or spine symptoms. Best experience I have had with any doctor and doctors office. Thank you Dr Melikian and staff for getting me back to a normal life.

Can't imagine back surgery being as easy as mine. Dr. Melikian is a really great surgeon who really did a great job for me. My leg pains disappeared immediately and I was out of recovery and headed home within a few hours. By day two I was walking the dog, and within six weeks began running (a bit).. Dr. Melikian explains everything, does what he promises and is quick to answer even the most mindless questions. He has a great staff that works with you to get the operation scheduled, your pre-op appointments and everything else to help you get ready. The DISC operating suite in Playa Vista is clean and efficient (they provide a free catered lunch!). The nurses are amazingly caring . Back problems ain't fun but if you have to have one, Dr. Melikian and Co. will take good care of you.

I started experiencing mild back pain in my mid-teens and this condition became progressively worse over the years. I am a very active road cyclist averaging about 7,000 miles a year but it has been more and more difficult to ride because of my back pain. As a result, I’ve been treated by Physical Therapists, Pain Specialists and received spinal injections and radio frequency ablation from 2012 until 2018. I saw Dr Melikian at the end of 2018 and he scheduled a microdisectomy for two of my lumbar levels that was performed in January of 2019. This surgical procedure has provided me with the level of pain and numbness relief that I was hoping for. I’m approximately 2 months out from my surgery and the pain level in my lower back is now slight and continues to decrease as time goes by. I was back on my bike after 5 weeks and have been able to do 50 mile bike rides in comfort!!! I feel extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Melikian and his professional staff to address my back problem issues. Dr. Melikian has provided me with the desired outcome that I had been praying for and I’ll be forever grateful to him!” 🚴🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♀️🚴

I've been fortunate to have Dr Melikian oversee my recovery from a cycling accident since October 2016. As one of the first doctors to see me in the hospital, Dr Melikian set the bar high with respect to stellar bedside manner, and outlining a realistic plan based on my key concerns of returning to running and cycling, and not wanting any unnecessary surgery. Whether it's been weeks or months between visits, he gives as much time as I need during appointments to listen to my latest updates, assess my progress, examine any recent imaging, and then we work together on an adjusted recovery plan. Thankfully, over a year and a half later, we're still finding non-surgical alternatives to help my recovery. If you find yourself in need of a spine specialist with a great grasp on empathy, a solid network of doctors, and open mind to recovery alternatives, you'll be incredibly lucky to have Dr Melikian on your team.
