I have been a member since this studio opened. It has gone through some transitions with ups and downs. I feel like the management is great right now. Connie is so attentive always welcoming me by my first name. I see her do this with every person entering the studio. My favorite class is the jump board class. I love jumping laying down! I get awesome workout every time I attend a class. I really am happy with the newest instructor Yvonne. I took her class today and am so excited she will be teaching on Sundays! I take classes with every instructor except for Eugene. I’m sure everyone has their favorite instructors. I like every instructor, but Gene makes these strange comments and laughs at the most ridiculous times. I will continue my journey with Club Pilates because I feel so much stronger and confident in my body. I recommend club Pilates Los Gatos to every one of my friends and family.
This is a very nice and large studio. I like not having to move the chairs to use the spring board on the wall. Other locations are much more crowded with all the equipment.
There’s a new instructor Yvonne that is teaching evenings. I took her class tonight and she was very knowledgeable and gave me corrections when I needed. I’m new to Pilates so I’m glad to know I can learn to do this properly. I really enjoyed her classes. I do like all instructors in this studio: Danica, Michaela, Katy, Amy, Laura, Gaby. This Pilates thing is my new obsession. I love coming here.
All the hiccups at the studio, poor management, and lack of client support can be tolerated. However, one of the instructors, namely Eugenia, makes it impossible to tolerate as she is disrespectful, rude, and condescending to students. She keeps laughing as she talks down on people. Her instructions are nonexistent. Instead of guiding the movements, she repeatedly complements herself by saying “… because I just want to make sure this or that …” … the constant emphasis in feeding her narcism and her inability to provide instruction, makes her classes flow-less and confusing. And then when people are confused and can’t follow, she talks down on them, while constantly forcing out laughs.
She doesn’t give breaks in between movements and she takes pride that she is a “hard” instructor. She is far from it. Example: when she wants to have people hold a lengthy routine, instead of telling people “yes, you can do it, I know you have it in you for 10 more second, 9, 8 , …” like other instructors (who motivate), she keeps laughing and saying “hahaha you thought I was done hahaha…”. She demotivates and condescend. She then picks on people who stop and makes an indirect comment about them.
I’ve never experienced such a fake instructor. Her classes are the worst in the studio. She makes most of us very very uncomfortable when she talks down on someone. AVOID HER CLASS AT ALL COST. It’s unfortunate that the management is still keeping her around.
Ps, I’ve been going to this studio since they opened. I avoid her classes. Other instructors are way way better. Every now and then, due to my schedule, I have no choice other than taking her or skip a day without Pilates. Despite repeated complaints to the management by several of us, the problem has largely been ignored. I’m posting here, hoping that someone several level up in management reads this and takes action.

I have been attending this studio once a week for almost a year now. While there have been some "hiccups" they were handled as well as I could ask for (a few months ago I had two classes cancelled due to instructor unavailability. As I result, I had sessions I had not used at the end of the month when my plan rolled over. The studio automatically rolled my unused credits into the next month without my needing to ask). Honestly, scheduling teachers, workers, etc in many fields is difficult as there is a shortage all around. I know they have been working on building up their teacher base for a few months - but they are getting there! I generally take classes with both Katy and Michaela, and they are both very good instructors. There is one instructor I found unclear with her instruction, frustrating and a bit unsafe, so I always avoid her classes. This does restrict my schedule a bit - but you figure out quickly what works for you. The others are great and I do still have options for many classes! Try them out and see what style works for you.
People have complained in reviews about there always being a waitlist for classes. There often is, but this has reduced over the months and many times now there is not. Whenever I put myself on the waitlist now I almost always get in! (I do put myself on the waitlist at least a few days in advance, last minute could be more difficult, but does work sometimes). I have no issue with their fees for late cancellations or no shows - you need to have these policies to manage the waitlists and be fair to all members. Their reasonable deadline for cancellations is what ensures people move up on the waitlist and are notified with sufficient time that they are in a class. If you have a 4 class a month pass (like I have had), you cannot book a class until you are billed for that month. This does make getting into classes in the days right after that month roll over a bit more difficult. But I am still usually able to get a class in that first week in the monthly cycle. I just upgraded to unlimited because my schedule now allows me to attend more than once a week, so that is no longer an issue.
staff have always been polite. The non-working bathroom for many weeks was inconvenient, a bit difficult to understand and not good for client satisfaction, but I am sure they were frustrated as well by the situation (I can't believe they would have let it go on for so long if they had been able to remedy the situation in a more timely manner).
Overall, it is a nice local studio with some very good instructors. The relative short distance from home makes it worth it to me to find classes that work for me in the schedule, which is not too difficult to do. I am hoping that with continued improvement in operations they will move to seeing many 5 star reviews.
I’ve been attending Club Pilates at the Los Gatos location for about a year now. The studio is clean, and they have some great instructors who bring variety in their workout styles. Personally, the classes have been very beneficial in helping me build core strength and even aided my recovery after a shoulder injury.
That said, there are a couple of areas where I think the experience could be improved:
Class availability: It’s extremely difficult to get into most morning and evening classes unless you book at least a week in advance. Afternoon slots are usually open, but that’s not always practical. I haven’t experienced this issue at other Club Pilates locations or with other types of fitness classes I take.
Cancellation policy: The rules here are unusually strict. You need to cancel 12 hours before class, and even if you’re just a few minutes late due to something uncontrollable (like traffic), you can still be fined. Out of 100+ classes I’ve attended, this happened to me twice. In both cases, the classes weren’t full and I even offered to join the next open session, but I was still charged. Other studios I’ve tried are more flexible and willing to make exceptions for genuine circumstances.
Overall, I enjoy the workouts and the instructors, but the scheduling challenges and rigid policies make the experience less customer-friendly than it could be.
