Dr. Avital Harari possesses outstanding professional and personal qualities. I met with her twice: once before the operation and once afterward. She made a remarkable impression on me both times. She is an organized, highly knowledgeable, and very caring doctor. She was willing to spend as much time as necessary with me to explain the upcoming surgery, discuss my concerns, and answer my questions. The operation was performed brilliantly, without any complications, and yielded the expected results. It has now been two weeks since I was operated on. The problem has been successfully resolved. My vital signs have returned to normal. I have not experienced any problems since regaining consciousness after anesthesia. Cosmetically, the results exceeded my expectations. My warmest gratitude goes to Dr. Harari and the staff who participated in the operation and postoperative care. I would also like to commend the UCLA clinical system for finding and employing such an exceptional specialist. Alex S. 02.20.2026

NEVER see Maria Pagan Mendez. She wants to put patients through treatments without giving appropriate pre-medications. let me tell you why this is dangerous and not in the best interest of the patient. She also lies in her medical charting and documentation, which is actually a crime once it is submitted to the insurance for billing. You can report a doctor to the medical board for this. You can have an allergic reaction (this can be minimized with pre-meds) side effects such as nausea, headaches and other things that can send the patient to the ER- where doctors now gaslight patients and refuse to treat the patients at all- and the doctor, their treatment, and their negligence to give pre-meds caused the medical problems? This can all be avoided with appropriate pre-meds. If a patient already suffers with illnesses where nausea, severe migraine, and other Issues are a problem, this doctor is going to exacerbate the problems with no medication to assist? Sounds like laziness and a doctor who does not care about her patients. This physician is intentionally inflicting unnecessary suffering on her patients that goes on for days and days and she is aware of it. Yes, a bag of IV fluids, IV Zofran (ondansetron), IV Benadryl (diphenhydramine), and IV magnesium can often be given together as premedications before bone-strengthening infusions like zoledronic acid (Reclast) for osteoporosis to mitigate side effects such as nausea/vomiting, allergic reactions, dehydration, and hypocalcemia-related issues. Safety Considerations IV fluids (typically normal saline or Lactaid ringers 500-1000 mL) are standard to ensure hydration and support renal function during bisphosphonate infusions, reducing dehydration risk from vomiting or flu-like symptoms. IV Zofran (4-8 mg) effectively prevents nausea/vomiting; IV Benadryl (25, 50, 75, 100 mg) helps with potential allergic reactions or acute phase symptoms like headache; both are compatible in infusion protocols when infused separately or slowly to avoid QT prolongation risks with Zofran. IV magnesium (e.g., 1-2 g) corrects low levels pre-infusion to prevent hypocalcemia exacerbation, but requires monitoring for electrolyte balance—no major incompatibilities noted with the others in clinical practice for this context Dr Maria Pagan Mendez. REFUSED ALL of these interventions to ease the treatment process. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM! She also refused to give the chart to another doctor who would properly treat the case and the patient. They REALLY care about their patients.

Dr Harari performed my parathyroidectomy at UCLA. I was quite nervous about the surgery and I had such an amazing experience as her patient. The surgery experience was seamless and the scar is almost gone. She was even able to reschedule my surgery very last minute due to a last-minute change. Additionally, She was such an attentive doctor after the surgery to make sure everything was on track in my recovery I can’t speak highly enough of the entire experience.

I had an appointment with Dr.Pagan regarding my thyroid problems. She was very professional, answered all my questions and gave explanation to all my concerns. Also, I want to mention that receptionists and medical assistance were very professional and nice. Thank you for the pleasant experience.
