Mom was there this morning. This 1 star is for the two female receptionists at the front desk. Both of them are unfriendly and rude to my mother. Please hire friendly people!!!
FYI: My mother has been a patient for Dr. Martinez for almost 3 decades and has a very good insurance.

Dr. Martinez is excellent but the office management has gotten very poor. I had an optician exam in October an took my prescription into Costco and they had to call Eye Physicians to verify the prescription. One number had a plus sign when it should have had a minus. Fortunately Costco had filled my previous prescriptions and caught the error, but if I had gone to someone new I might have paid for eyeglasses that were useless. Mistakes happen, so I held off on a review. I wrote a letter to Dr. Martinez in December 7 and put it in postal mail asking for some reassurance that a mistake like this wouldn’t happen again.
It is now January 11 and there has been no response of any kind. I received an email from Eye Physicians today letting me know that I could now pay online using Phreesia so I am sure they know how to reach me.
I rarely post negative reviews but I’m hoping sharing my experience might result in some changes for the practice.

Absolutely love the staff. Everyone was so friendly and exceptionally helpful. Dr Hertzog is amazing. He made me feel extremely comfortable and confident with my decision for lens replacement and the outcome was amazing. The day of the surgery he made sure to check on me before to reassure me and again after to ensure I was without pain or any issues. I’m so pleased with the outcome of my left eye. I can’t wait to get my right eye done here in the next few weeks highly recommend this group and Dr Hertzog.
I don't typically write 1 start reviews, especially for doctor's offices, but this is a very shady place.
Was told I could get a YAG laser for floaters here a while back and paid over 300 dollars out of pocket for an examination of my floaters. When I arrived, all that was done was a typical eye exam that I already had gotten with my treating ophthalmologist.
When I asked about my actual floaters for the YAG laser treatment, the doctor looked surprised and it was clear he didn't even know that the sole reason I was there was for the assessment of my floaters for the treatment; he refused to assess accordingly and said I was not fit for the procedure without ever examining my floaters. Any further inquiries about my eye isses were simply brushed off as just my cornea being "weak". I was flabbergasted at the lack of care, but at that point just wanted to the get hell out. $300+ bucks for nothing.
I was later gratuitously called by who I remember as the office manager to send my records to my treating doctor while oddly being put on speaker phone. When I told her it would be up to my discretion at a later date to send myself, she LIED and vaguely said something along the lines of it was against HIPAA to do so and proceeded to press to for her office to send it themselves. Unfortunately, I did not know my HIPAA rights enough at the time and let her do it for who knows what reason. My treating ophthalmologist did not mention or refer to their report at all during my next visit.
Looking back, I clearly was ripped off, manipulated, and disrespected. Shame on them.
