Club Pilates La Quinta is a boutique Pilates studio specializing in reformer fusion classes for anyone, at any age or fitness level. Pure to Joseph Pilates’ original Reformer-based Contrology Method, but modernized with group practice and expanded state-of-the-art equipment, Club Pilates offers high-quality, life-changing training at a surprisingly affordable price.
I used to love coming to Club Pilates La Quinta — the instructors are amazing and truly make the classes enjoyable. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk and management has completely changed how I feel about this studio.
A few months ago, I had a health condition and called to freeze my account. I was told everything was “all good” and that I didn’t need to bring in a doctor’s note. I trusted that, since I’d always had great experiences here.
Months later, I realized I was still being charged. When I called, they said there was a note that my freeze request was “on hold” pending a doctor’s note — which no one had ever told me I needed to submit. They finally froze the account, but only after I’d paid for three extra months I couldn’t use. I asked for a refund and was told a manager would call me.
That call never came. After several follow-ups, I finally spoke to the manager, who claimed there was no record of my freeze request or my health condition at all — even though I had called multiple times. Apparently, the staff member who originally helped me didn’t log things correctly and now I’m the one paying for their mistake.
At this point, they refuse to refund me for two of the extra months they charged, saying it’s been over 90 days — even though I’ve been calling and trying to resolve this since it happened.
Lesson learned: Always get everything in writing. Don’t assume a verbal request over the phone will be honored or even recorded. It’s incredibly frustrating to feel gaslighted and dismissed after being a loyal customer who genuinely loved this studio.
I truly hope management takes accountability and improves their communication — because the teachers deserve better than to lose clients over avoidable administrative errors.

Did not have a great experience today with instructor Mandy. She came across as cold and unwelcoming. I am not the most experienced in Pilates but have taken it before. When she learned of this she expressed condescending remarks towards the fact I should have taken a previous class before taking hers. I will not be booking another class with her in the future.

For anyone who’s new to Pilates or easing back into exercise after an injury, I wouldn’t recommend starting with Mandy. Unless you’ve already taken the 1.0 class and can perform everything near-perfectly, she’s likely to come across as judgmental rather than supportive.
Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with this instructor. From the start, she came off as rude, judgmental, and unwelcoming. Rather than offering helpful guidance, her corrections felt unnecessarily harsh and condescending, especially for someone new to the studio.
What bothered me most was the tone she used. While correcting me, she sounded more critical than constructive. Then, she immediately turned over to my boyfriend (also new to Club Pilates) and, in the same judgmental tone, asked if he had ever used a jump board before, followed by, “You know this is a 1.5 class, right?” The way she said it felt more like a scolding than support.
No one had informed us that we had to take a cardio sculpt 1.0 class before trying a cardio sculpt 1.5, and up until that class, we had never encountered any issues. From my perspective, my boyfriend was actually doing really well for a first-timer in her class (he has had some experience in Pilates), and yet the tone directed at both of us made the experience uncomfortable and discouraging.
Not only that, but we had to commit to a 3-month membership to sign up and bought 8 classes for this month without realizing most of the classes were already full. No one mentioned that when we signed up, so now we’re stuck with very limited options to book before the classes expire in 30 days.
This was not the welcoming environment we were hoping for, especially as new members. A little more kindness and encouragement would have gone a long way.
I recommend going to Michelle, she is amazing, supportive, and welcoming! The 2- star does not apply to her.
