  We write this testimonial as the parents of someone struggling with addiction. Any parent who reads this will understand the unique challenges addiction presents when it’s your own son or daughter putting their lives at risk every day. When faced with the counter-intuitive decisions a parent must make to stop enabling their child, we struggled with insecurities. One can read all the books and go to meetings and get therapy and we’ve done all these things over the past 15 years. They were helpful endeavors, but we needed more when our grown son had a dramatic relapse after 6 years of sobriety. In all our years of loving an addict and trying to get effective help for him, the absolute best decision we’ve made, both for our loved one and for ourselves, was to hire a professional interventionist. Gino with Hope Interventions came into our lives at the exact moment we were ready to receive him. We had already made the decision to stop rescuing our son. That said, we knew we needed support and professional advice to firmly hold our boundaries with love. We also knew we couldn’t completely turn our backs on our son. We needed someone qualified to serve as an intermediary to help us navigate the journey of healing we so desperately needed while showing our loved one the path towards recovery. It takes a special individual to be an effective interventionist. An important part of the job is to skillfully function as a calm, compassionate, and dedicated individual, both for the addict and the family, without getting sucked into the extreme turmoil, unpredictability, chaos, and danger a person in active addiction creates. The wrecking ball of addiction had made our lives unmanageable. Hope Interventions kept us informed without creating an undue amount of stress in our lives. Just knowing they were there, staying in close contact with our son and basically talking him down from the self-destructive behaviors he was drowning in, made it possible for us to hold our boundaries and take better care of ourselves. Hope Interventions stood by our son through a very dark time. Our son is now in recovery and they are still there to help him get through these early days. We do not believe our son would have survived this last relapse without the pivotal role Hope Interventions played in his decision to seek recovery. We know for certain that they care for the well-being of the individuals they serve. They have always communicated with us with empathy and respect. They are accessible and willing to collaborate with the family and we are fortunate to have had them as a guiding light on our journey.
