- LMLuna Llewellyn De La MorteAug 10, 20211.0I went in to try and purchase some syringes and they treated me like I was a junkie. Pharmacist gave me a dirty look and said I needed a prescription. They seem to be oblivious to the fact that in California, people don't need a prescription for a syringe. Look it up! I use syringes to administer my own hormone injections every two weeks. But, the pharmacist didn't ask, didn't care, just judged me and sent me away. I don't have insurance at the moment so I felt fortunate when I discovered the law in California gives me access to this medical necessity. I left feeling embarrassed, angry, frustrated, and sad. All because the pharmacist chose to judge me rather than help. Luckily, I went to Walgreens and the pharmacist was very helpful. They asked about my medication and after a short conversation, sold me 2 syringes for $2. It was a very simple transaction. I hope this pharmacy learns the importance of customer service and treating people with dignity and respect. Even if someone is a drug user, they're still people. Nobody should ever feel the way I felt that day. Clean needles can save lives and prevent HIV transmission. Get it together Vons, don't be a part of the problem.
