My recent experience at LensCrafters was highly satisfactory. Sarah demonstrated professionalism, attentiveness, and a genuine commitment to customer care throughout my visit. She provided a comprehensive eye test and was using advanced diagnostic equipment and took the time to explain each step in detail. Overall, LensCrafters exemplifies efficiency, expertise, and quality service in the eyewear industry. I would confidently recommend them to others seeking a reliable and professional vision care provider

I was quoted fees that were not clearly explained upfront. Then I was told those same fees could be “waived” if I purchased glasses that same day. That felt less like a policy and more like a tactic to pressure customers into buying on the spot. It came across as manipulative — almost like you’re being boxed into a purchase to avoid paying unnecessary charges. Customers should never feel forced to buy something just to avoid fees that weren’t transparently explained in the first place. If a representative cannot clearly break down pricing, build rapport, and create a welcoming experience, that’s a service issue — not a customer obligation to purchase. The manager greeting was not warm or informative, and there was no clear explanation of next steps during check-in. Engagement only increased when it was time to sell glasses. The exam team was excellent. However, the sales approach and the way fees were handled made the experience feel pressured and misleading. Customers deserve transparency — not tactics that make them feel trapped into making a purchase.

My family of four has been visiting this LensCrafters at Otay Ranch Town Center for the past three years. We chose this store because it’s a Plus Provider. However, this year was a terrible experience. First, they informed us that we couldn’t have our entire family’s eye exams on the same day. They insisted we split into two separate appointments on different days even though they had available appointments online. Next, they told us that the eye exam covered by our insurance, which we’ve never had to pay for before, wasn’t available at this location. Instead, they charged us $39 each for a comprehensive exam. I explained that we’ve never had to pay out of pocket for an eye exam, and the representative claimed that the doctor only offers comprehensive exams and not the standard ones. When I asked to cancel my appointment, he threatened to charge me a $50 cancellation fee. To make matters worse, my son couldn’t even get an eye exam because his benefits weren’t ready for him to use. The representative said that since he wasn’t yet eligible for the lens benefit, they wouldn’t be able to do his eye exam, even though he did qualify. As a Plus Provider, I expected a more professional experience and not these shady business practices. This is the first time we’ve encountered such unethical behavior at this location, and it’s our third year going there. I’m going to talk to my vision benefit provider, EyeMed, about this incident and share my experience with friends and family. I’ll also leave reviews on social media and review sites about what happened to our family. I’m very disappointed.
