- TAtony aguileraFeb 22, 20261.0Went in there Friday Feb 20th just after 1pm. Wasn’t looking for anything in particular as I’m just getting myself back into shape, thought I’d browse around. The store was clean and organized and the young man working there did offer help which I eventually did need some help but unfortunately they were out of what I was looking for. This wasn’t the problem though, the problem I had was as I was checking out, the young man asked if I had a number, I wasn’t sure so I gave him my number and we found out I did not have a number in their system. I quickly said it’s ok as I wasn’t looking to create a loyalty account. The young man said something under his breathe and while I didn’t hear him completely it sounded like he said he’d use another number. Before he could complete anything I asked him to repeat what he said, to which he replied he would use the last gentleman’s number for my transaction. I work for a place that has a loyalty program. I realize transactions are tracked and there is an attachment rate needed for transactions with loyalty number. Now at my place of work the loyalty number also connects to that customers info and mistakes have been made where one has done what this young man was going to do then the customer makes a return and the receipt attaches to the rewards owners CC. So I did ask the young man why he would do that, just charge me without using a loyalty account, he muttered something about not needing a phone number to make a purchase. I say muttered because he was focused on finding the last phone number and not hearing that I just asked him not to. I decided to walk away without making my purchase as I did not feel comfortable having my transaction tied to another persons loyalty account. For store management: please don’t pressure the staff so much on this attachment rate, as to force them to not listen to the customer.
