My mother's wheelchair is absolutely adorable and she is so happy with the fit. Thank you Keith, Trevor and the rest of the staff who were so kind and gracious. Everyone we encountered had a smile on their face which was infectious.

I’ve been a wheelchair user my whole life, and whereas it is never easy. The staff at the Campbell office has made it much easier and even with the changes of our system, they always put the customers comfort and safety ahead of everything else.

This location has been the worse with fixing my wheelchair or getting repairs done. When i 1st came to this location, i requested a new wheelchair and i was well over 5 yrs in the chair so i was definitely due for a new 1. I was told by someone that doesnt use a wheelchair that i didnt need a new wheelchair. Came back once that person left the company and they stated i needed a new chair just off the condition on the chair i was currently using at the time. I've been coming here for almost 6 years and every encounter has been horrible. Takes 1 to 2 hours just to fix minor repairs like replacing wheels, upholstery, or casters. My frame broke within the 2yrs and my chair is under warranty for 5 years but i was told I would need to pay out of pocket. It was escalated to the regional manager because the chair is still under warranty and I work 2 jobs so I can't afford to be without a chair. I went back and forth with this location for months and they finally got an approval to provide me a loaner chair. I finally got the loaner chair but waited over 3 months just to get my chair back. The women in the office have horrible communication skills, I was told my cushion order was pending the referral review but to find out weeks later the referral was never input and I need to reach out to my Dr to request the referral.. instead of telling me this week's prior. I never had any issues with the Cordelia location, in fact they would come to me at my job or school and do the repairs on the spot within 30 mins. Once I move, I definitely won't be doing business at this location anymore
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
