I honestly don’t think I’ve ever met someone who genuinely enjoys training at this gym. At this point, I even wonder if some of the positive reviews are written by the staff themselves.
There are many things I could complain about, but I’ll focus on what frustrates me the most: broken equipment that stays out of service for months with no apparent urgency to fix it.
I’ve completely lost track of how many months the only 45-degree leg press has been broken. It’s one of the most popular machines in the gym, and I honestly can’t remember the last time I was able to use it. The guided squat machine near the men’s washroom has also been broken for what feels like six months, and nothing seems to happen.
I politely asked a staff member at the front desk if there was any estimated timeline for the repairs. His response was:
“We never know. It could take a week or it could take months. We just don’t know.”
That answer perfectly summarizes my experience with this gym. There seems to be very little concern for the members.
My impression is that they know people keep coming only because the gym is convenient—not because it’s a good gym. It’s close to home (that’s why I go), close to transit, or convenient for work. Certainly not because of the quality or the value. In fact, I would gladly pay significantly more if there were another gym just as close to my home.
What makes this even more disappointing is the feeling that the owners of this location probably have no idea what’s happening, while the local management seems unconcerned about keeping members satisfied.
I honestly can’t wait until I have another option and can cancel my membership.
I would not recommend this gym. If you have the option to train somewhere else—even if it’s slightly less convenient—I genuinely think you’ll have a much better experience. Working out should be something you look forward to, not another source of frustration.

I really like the people that going this gym location, but unfortunately it's almost impossible to work out if you going after 3 pm , all the machines are really bussy , sometimes 3 or 4 persons in the line to use a equipment , that's crazyyy!!! Even the cardio specifically the treadmills and steps area by this hours are all of them busy. I understand that it's like that because the location, but I think if u will over sell the memberships you gotta start getting more equipments. The leg press it's broken since more than one month ago, if you cannot repair it I think will be an option you get a new one specially for the crazy amount of members that u have. I really think you gotta start thinking about how to improve this. It's so sad doing here to work out after 3 pm
I recently joined Fitness World with my partner. During the sign-up process, the instructor, Tiwari, showed us around the gym and discussed membership options. We were offered different membership plans, and when I asked about personal training, he told us there was a one-time promotional offer for around $250 for a few sessions (I don’t remember whether it was 3 or 5 sessions). He then said that after the promotion, personal training would cost around $1,500.
What made the interaction unacceptable was the way he spoke to us. He said that he pays for a personal trainer because he can afford it, and implied that we probably couldn’t afford it. I found this extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Making assumptions about a customer’s financial situation is completely inappropriate. Listen mr . Tiwari my one luxiours bag cost more than your personal training
After that experience, my partner and I decided not to purchase personal training immediately and instead spend a couple of weeks getting a feel for the gym. During that time, we noticed that whenever Tiwari saw us, especially on Saturday mornings, he would simply ignore us. He never greeted us or acknowledged us, despite us being members. It genuinely felt like his attitude changed because we chose not to buy personal training.
There was another uncomfortable interaction where he asked my partner about some exercises his own trainer had taught him. He said he was “testing” us to see how much we knew about exercising. As paying members, we came to the gym to work out, not to be tested or made to feel inferior. It came across as an attempt to show off rather than provide helpful customer service.
Overall, this experience has been disappointing. A fitness instructor should make members feel welcome, respected, and supported regardless of whether they purchase additional services. Instead, we felt judged, ignored, and treated differently because we declined personal training. I hope Fitness World addresses this matter and reminds its staff that professionalism and respectful customer service should be extended to every member.
Thais Cabral is an outstanding Zumba instructor at Fitness World Marine Gateway whose classes are always energetic, creative, and incredibly fun. She has a truly original way of creating Zumba steps, combining Latin and international music with diverse rhythms and choreography that keep every class fresh and exciting. Her music selection is excellent, and her dance style is both entertaining and inspiring. What makes Thais especially effective is her teaching method: she explains and demonstrates the movements clearly, making the class enjoyable and easy to follow for dancers of all levels. I always leave her classes feeling motivated, uplifted, and happy. I highly recommend Thais to anyone looking for a dynamic, talented, and passionate Zumba instructor.
