To anyone considering the Lonsdale location: stay away. I had a serious concern about a manager at this gym named Kash. His behaviour toward members was very concerning. I documented everything and sent it to head office. Renee was assigned to handle it. She never investigated. Never followed up. Never called. Instead she blamed me. Suggested I was overreacting. Made me out to be the problem. When I pushed back, she retaliated. Cancelled my membership. Tried to intimidate me into silence. And the manager stayed. Months later, a female member was assaulted at this location. By the same manager. The one I reported. The one Renee protected. This isn't just negligence. This is a pattern. They bury complaints. They blame victims. They protect abusers. And they lie about all of it. Renee will tell you they take complaints seriously. She will tell you member safety is a priority. She will tell you she'll call you back. She won't. This company is dangerous. The Lonsdale location especially. Management doesn't protect members. They protect themselves. Women: do not sign up here. Do not trust them with your safety. If something feels off, it is. And they will not help you. I tried to warn them. They ignored me. Now someone else paid the price.

Everyone at this gym is friendly and welcoming, but I especially want to recognize Reham and Vahid Reham, the greeter, always welcomes everyone with such a warm smile and makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. Vahid, the manager and trainer, is incredibly professional, respectful, and genuinely cares about every member. Both of them treat everyone with kindness and respect, and their positive attitude really makes this gym stand out

The staff were friendly, the location was convenient, and the other members were all very nice. I genuinely enjoyed going to this gym. My problem is with the membership cancellation process, which I found unnecessarily obstructive, misleading, and deeply unfair. First, the bi-weekly contract and billing structure is highly misleading. It creates the impression that the membership can be cancelled with similar flexibility, but cancellation actually requires 30 days’ notice, and billing continues for another 30 days or more. I acknowledge that I should have confirmed this when I first signed the agreement. I might understand such a restriction for a personal training contract, but I only used the exercise machines. To make sure the cancellation went smoothly, I went to the gym in person. However, the front desk simply gave me a QR code. I scanned it at the gym, opened the dedicated cancellation website, and began entering the required information. The site appeared to be designed to make cancellation as difficult as possible. The first form asked me to enter the code associated with my membership QR code. I opened the Fitness World app on my iPhone and displayed the code, but the app would not allow me to select or copy the 15-character number. I therefore had to switch repeatedly between the app and my browser, memorizing and entering the code four characters at a time. Even then, I received an error. On closer inspection, I noticed that one character was impossible to distinguish as either the number zero or the letter O. I tried changing it several times, re-entering my registered email address after every failed attempt. Eventually, after several tries, the system finally verified my membership. I was then presented with a series of questions about my reason for leaving, discount offers, and other options that seemed intended to discourage me from cancelling. At every stage, I had to read the buttons very carefully to determine whether I was declining an offer or cancelling the membership itself. Eventually, I reached the final agreement and signature page. I read the agreement and signed it with my finger, but nothing happened. I tried signing several more times and scrolling through the agreement again, but I could not proceed beyond the signature screen. When I pinched the screen to zoom out, I discovered that the submit button was hidden outside the visible area. However, even while holding the page in its reduced state and trying to press the button, it did not respond. As soon as I released my fingers, the page returned to its previous size, hiding the button again. It was also impossible to scroll far enough to reach it. Changing the iOS text size and using the browser’s zoom-out function made no difference—the page automatically resized in a way that continued to place the submit button outside the visible area. I work professionally in UI design and have considerable experience designing mobile applications. Based on that experience, I find it very difficult to believe that this cancellation flow became so obstructive by accident. In the end, I used the iPhone’s “Add to Home Screen” function and enabled the option to open the site as a web app. I then restarted the entire cancellation process from the beginning. Only in the web-app view was I finally able to access the signature submission button that had been hidden behind the browser interface. I eventually succeeded, but what percentage of members trying to cancel would know how to do this—or have the patience to complete the process? I feel sorry for the excellent staff at the Lonsdale location, because this one-star rating is directed entirely at Fitness World’s corporate cancellation practices and management. For comparison, my son told me that cancelling his membership at the Planet Fitness near Capilano Mall took approximately 30 seconds at the front desk. I sincerely hope Fitness World improves this process and begins treating departing members with the same respect it shows when signing them up. As of July 24, 2026.

I’ve been a member of Fitness World for a few years now, and I recently started personal training sessions with Amir B. He has made such a positive impact on my fitness journey! Not only has he helped me correct my form, but he’s also taught me how to approach my workouts more effectively. For years, I struggled with a weight plateau, but since working with Amir, I’ve finally started to see real results. I’m incredibly grateful for Amir and the amazing staff at the gym, they truly are the best!

I've been coming to this gym for a while, but the conditions have gotten pretty bad. After 5 p.m., the air circulation is terrible. It smells strongly of sweat, it's incredibly humid, and the A/C either isn't on or isn't working. It's summer—why are members expected to work out in these conditions? On top of that, equipment isn't being maintained. The Assault Bike's screen doesn't even turn on, making it unusable. It feels like these issues have been ignored for a long time. We're paying membership fees, so where is that money going? Please fix the A/C, improve the ventilation, and maintain the equipment. Members deserve better.
