Dr Tseng is the best optometrist I’ve ever been to. He explained all my questions and concerns thoroughly. The technician Mona was very helpful and knowledgeable with excellent customer service. She explained the various options and what the differences were between them. She was able to provide a very good understanding of the billing process as well.

I had an eye exam booked for last week at Specsavers Lougheed and wanted to share my experience.
Before my appointment, I called to ask where I could send a doctor’s referral note, and I emailed it in advance to the address they provided. When I arrived about 10 minutes early, they couldn’t find my email. I forwarded the same thread again on the spot, and they were able to locate it immediately, which was confusing.
During check-in, I was asked if I wear contact lenses. I said yes. I assumed this was just a standard question, especially since I was there for an eye exam and happened to be wearing glasses that day.
When discussing the fee (around $149), I mentioned that my doctor had told me the exam might be covered or reduced with the referral note. I wasn’t refusing to pay—I also have third-party coverage—but I was trying to understand how the referral applied. I felt like I was being cut off while explaining, rather than being given a clear answer.
Also, regarding the extremely high fee, I was told I was being booked for both a contact lens consult and an eye exam. I clarified that I was only there for an eye exam. The female Indian staff member that was interacting with me from the beginning smiled in a very condescending way saying "you asked for a lens consult", and I responded "no, you asked me if I wore lenses."
At that time, another staff member stepped in and was more helpful, and she offered to confirm with the doctor. However, even though I was at my appointment time, maybe past by 5-8 minutes at this time, the doctor took another patient first. I ended up waiting about 15 minutes further from that point while they tried to get clarification.
After, the second administrator went inside to consult the doctor and I could hear them laughing while the girl said something along the lines of "of course it wouldn't wave the fee" in response to the doctor. It felt like they were mocking me for asking a "ridiculous" question when my own family doctor gave me information.
Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and I would have appreciated clearer communication and a more professional approach during the interaction.
Edited to say: that I obviously did not give my business to this location. I had since left and gone to the optometrist beside Hannam supermarket. They did complete the eye exam. Charge free.

From the time I walked in for my appointment to less than 2 weeks later when I had my new prescription glasses, I was treated with respect and with kindness. Mona, the representative that helped me, was wonderful and help me select my new frames and gave me honest feedback. When I went back to pick up my new glasses she remembered me and helped me again. The quality, price and overall selection we're wonderful.

Their optometrist got the prescription wrong for my mom. She found this out after getting new lenses from them and getting headaches immediately. They were pretty dismissive of her concerns trying to get them corrected. She went back to her previous optometrist who said her eyesight hadn’t changed since she last got her prescription. She therefore wasted her time changing her lenses to begin with. They don’t care about your eye health, don’t bother.
