Amir has been extremely helpful as my personal trainer, and I truly appreciated his attentiveness, professionalism, and effort throughout our sessions. He was always accommodating with my schedule and would even extend sessions when needed, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Amir at Club16 Trevor Linden Fitness as a personal trainer. He also worked professionally as a trainer in Iran and has extensive experience working with many clients.

Reviews are subjective overall everything is great yes it gets a bit crowded over the weekends and peak hours but thats every gym My concern is always about cleanliness and hygiene which this branch fortunately gets right. The washrooms are clean the equipment as well, staff is nice and friendly really nice people also the patrons that are in the gym are polite and considerate. The only reason why it is not 5 stars is because recently I was approached by one of the trainers for a free session. And oh my God, it was a major challenge to find a date which coincides with our schedule. I won’t lie. I was not free because I work during the hours that were provided to me by the trainer and at the end I had to finally cancel it because of some last-minute thing so so the trainer could not reschedule anymore, which is fair so I think to keep the schedule open as a major opportunity that you guys can work towards. Otherwise everything is fine. I am also satisfied with the price. One other thing was when I just joined the gym I had to pay the full registration fee, but after a weekday brought the promotion of zero dollar registration fee I asked the management if I can get the price match, but they refused, which I think would have been manageable

Except sometimes there are unruly members, it all up to us how to deal with those kind of individual. Otherwise it’s all good, it’s not a luxurious place but basically you got all you need to get fit. Gain new friends and basically I live just across the street so location wise it’s perfect for me. Staffs, I don’t know, I don’t usually communicate with them.

Very disappointing experience with Club16.Highgate Village location Burnaby. I went in person to cancel my membership after being told it couldn’t be done over the phone. I paid the required fee, and staff confirmed everything was completed. However, days later I found out my account was still active. The same issue happened to my wife, who had previously requested cancellation but was told there was no record of it. When we followed up, we were told a manager would handle it. The manager later said cancellations require 30 days’ notice and signed paperwork—none of which was explained to us at the time. Despite this, we were still asked to pay additional fees. I also sent an email about this issue a week ago and have received no response. Poor communication, inconsistent information, and no accountability. Very frustrating experience.

Let’s normalize gyms maintaining equipment to a proper standard. Machines shouldn’t be broken, misaligned, or falling apart to the point where deteriorating padding leaves residue on your hands. Equipment like a hack squat and a captain’s bench are basic staples in any well-equipped facility. The Highgate Burnaby location is noticeably outdated and in need of significant repairs and upgrades. As a member of over 20 years, it’s frustrating to see the space decline while membership fees remain consistent. It’s difficult to train efficiently when equipment is either unavailable or not in usable condition. To be clear, the staff and on-site management are not to blame for the current conditions or the feedback being shared. They are doing their best, but they don’t have the authority or resources to address larger issues. Repair requests are submitted, but not handled efficiently. The responsibility lies with upper management and corporate to properly support this location and invest in necessary improvements. The facility itself, including the bathrooms, feels outdated and in need of a full refresh. With other gyms in the area offering more modern equipment and better-maintained spaces, it raises a valid business question—why hasn’t this location been upgraded to remain competitive? This is a shared concern among many members, including long-standing ones. After over 20 years of loyalty to this location, I believe members deserve a facility that reflects that commitment. I hope upper management takes this seriously and makes meaningful changes. it’s time to bring the Highgate Burnaby location up to the standard your members deserve.
