I had an amazing experience at 16 Club north van. The atmosphere is welcoming, professional, and very friendly from the moment you walk in. The staff truly make this place special with their respectful and warm behavior.

As a member of Club16 Trevor Linden Fitness, visiting the Club16 Trevor Linden Fitness branch yesterday was honestly a really interesting experience. One thing I appreciate about having elite membership access is the ability to explore different locations and compare the atmosphere, layout, and equipment. Every gym has its own personality, and the Brentwood branch definitely felt different from Canada Place in several ways.
The first thing I noticed was the overall vibe of the Brentwood location. It felt modern, spacious, and energetic, especially with the newer Brentwood area developing so quickly around it. The gym had a clean and organized layout, and despite being busy, it still felt manageable and comfortable to move around in. There was a steady flow of people working out seriously, which honestly helps motivation. Sometimes gym energy matters more than people realize. If everyone around you looks focused, your brain suddenly decides maybe you should stop pretending to rest between sets for fifteen minutes.
What made the visit especially interesting was comparing the equipment between the two branches. Some machines and equipment available at the Canada Place location were missing in Brentwood, while Brentwood also had equipment that Canada Place does not have. That balance actually made the experience refreshing because it gave variety instead of feeling like a copy-and-paste gym. It reminded me that different locations are designed around different spaces, demographics, and training styles.
At Canada Place, I personally still appreciate certain equipment and the downtown atmosphere more. The location itself has a unique energy because of the business district, waterfront surroundings, and the mix of professionals, students, and regular gym-goers. There is something motivating about finishing a workout downtown while surrounded by the city skyline and the harbor nearby. It feels very “main character trying to rebuild his life” in the best possible way.
Meanwhile, the Brentwood branch felt slightly more community-focused and relaxed while still being modern and well-equipped. Some of the machines there were newer or simply different enough to make workouts feel less repetitive. Trying unfamiliar equipment actually made the session more enjoyable because it challenged my routine a little. Sometimes changing environments helps break mental plateaus in fitness. The body adapts, but honestly the brain gets bored first.
The cleanliness and maintenance at Brentwood were also solid during my visit. Equipment was generally in good condition, the gym floor looked organized, and the environment felt professionally managed. Staff and members seemed respectful, and the atmosphere stayed positive throughout the workout. That matters more than fancy aesthetics sometimes. A gym can look beautiful online, but if the environment feels chaotic or uncomfortable, people stop wanting to train there consistently.
Another thing I noticed was how each location serves different needs. Canada Place works really well for people working or living downtown who want convenience and accessibility, while Brentwood feels ideal for people in Burnaby looking for a larger suburban-style gym experience. Neither location felt objectively better overall. They simply offered different strengths.
Overall, my visit to the Brentwood Club16 Trevor Linden Fitness branch was a great experience. It gave me a fresh training environment, access to different equipment, and a new perspective compared to my usual Canada Place location. Both gyms have their own advantages, and having access to multiple branches honestly makes the membership feel much more valuable. At the end of the day, a good gym is not just about machines. It is about finding a space that keeps you motivated to show up consistently, and both locations succeed in their own way.
Mustafa is an excellent and superior personal trainer. I have seen significant gains in muscle mass while also reducing my BMI substantially. A good personal trainer does not just show you how to do an exercise or lift, but carefully analyzes which muscles you are engaging and which you are not to help you perfect your form and get maximum results from your effort and time. Mustapha is keenly observant, well-versed in how the body and muscles function and very invested in getting maximum results for his clients. He is a real professional, very dedicated and hard working, and I could not recommend him more as a Personal Trainer. I would also give a shoutout to the reception staff who are always friendly and helpful, and enhance the experience of coming to the gym. Kudos to Club 16 for employing someone on the spectrum: Vince is a real ambassador and asset for Club 16. Now, just fix the stretching area that was reduced after the revamp that added a great deal of top notch equiptment. Everyone appreciates the revamp, but some more consideration for the proper space allocation is really important from a safety and training perspective.
my wife and I just finished our group training sessions with Nathan. We have been working with Nathan for about a year now, and he has been a great trainer for us. He is patient, understanding, and is very encouraging towards our progress. He takes the time to explain all the workouts and what muscle it trains, and he never rushes a workout session. We always appreciated his consistent effort to push us and make us work hard. We were both very motivated when working with him, and we are both at our most strongest, thanks to him! We hope we are able to work with him again in the future! I would 100% recommend Nathan for amyone looking to start personal training at club 16!

All around a solid gym for different kinds of people training or maintaining for all sorts of things. A full size gym with ample equipment to keep your needs met, plus a women's only area for you shy girls out there. I got trained by Ada for their 3 sesh sign up deal, I thought she was really nice and informative. Very flexible with my hectic schedule and understanding. She set me up with a decent work out plan as well as explaining macros, posture and eveeything integral for starting at the gym. All of our training sessions it felt as if i was being spotted by a friend who helped me push. Thats what I felt like I needed. Friendly staff and great place to start off your gym journey if your a lady is would definetly give her a try and see if this is the right gym for you.
