Extremely Disappointing Experience I had a very frustrating visit at the LensCrafters in South Shore Center. We didn’t have an appointment and walked in, and the staff guided us to their waiting area, assuring us that someone would be with us shortly. It was a Saturday and understandably busy, so we expected a bit of a wait but after 30 minutes, there was still no acknowledgement whatsoever that we were even there. What made the situation worse was that other walk-ins who arrived after us were helped first, with no explanation. When we finally went up to the front desk to ask about the wait, we were completely ignored. There was no sign-in sheet, no system for checking in, and no effort from the staff to communicate or provide any updates. The whole experience felt disorganized and dismissive. After waiting so long without anyone even recognizing us, we left feeling frustrated and unvalued as customers. I honestly can’t recommend this location based on this visit.

Called to have my prescription emailed to me and the lady who answered the phone laughed… instead of just explaining why she couldn’t. She was quite rude when I was asking about options and then when she finally agreed to send my prescription in the mail she also made a mocking voice saying my name…it was totally rude!! I was going to buy new frames and lenses from them but now, Forget it! I don’t want to give anymore money to a place that deems that behavior appropriate..

Walked in just now wondering if I could get my glasses repaired. Patty was so thoughtful and kind. My glasses feel brand new. Thanks again!

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
